There are some classy, high-end action sequences from director Lennart Ruff, who is terrific at trim, taut set pieces. Go to Full Review

Wolff’s performance stands out for its overall complexity, while Kramer is, in the German style, not afraid to be simply unlikeable. While a couple instalments feel padded, this is a deserved word-of-mouth hit that holds together to its final moments. Go to Full Review

The spy thriller is a well-worked genre, but Unfamiliar feels fresh by virtue of the tautness of the writing and the way it’s mirrored in Ruff’s lucid direction, in which nothing happens without a reason. Go to Full Review

Torben E @Torben 4d Another uninspired clone of the Bourne-movies. Could have been decent but it's way to silly and absurd. Most of the time it's style over substance. A silly script combined with silly dialogues and awkward acting. It's tolerable if you're desperately waiting for the next Bond or Bourne movie...but keep your expectations low. See more Maximilian P @mpneo Mar 4 An utterly unbelievable and annoying series about agents with relationship problems. It falls into the typical category of trying to overload all series with current social issues, even though no one believes it: if someone is a ruthless killer, then he or she acts like a normal person in their private life who goes to work like everyone else. That just doesn't happen—just as it doesn't happen that a woman constantly asserts herself against much stronger men on an equal footing: it's physically impossible. I will definitely not be watching a second season, and I also hope that none will be produced. An absolute and insulting waste of time. See more Marco L @decatur555 Mar 3 Unfamiliar doesn’t reinvent the spy thriller, but it doesn’t need to. Across six tight episodes, it delivers solid intrigue, steady pacing and polished production values. The familiar elements — double agents, East–West tensions and strained personal relationships — are handled competently, even if they never feel groundbreaking. At times, emotional subplots soften the espionage edge, yet the overall narrative remains engaging. It’s not a genre-defining series, but it’s well-constructed, visually refined and consistently watchable. By the end, it feels like time well spent and leaves room for continuation. See more Elliot L @elazarus Mar 3 I kept hoping and waiting but the series fell flat. Actions scenes were good but that is about it. See more Mo P. @Mopal Mar 1 Kept my interest. Liked the characters and actors. Had to rewind a bit to follow the plot but overall this was good and entertaining.
