There are some classy, high-end action sequences from director Lennart Ruff, who is terrific at trim, taut set pieces. Go to Full Review

Wolff’s performance stands out for its overall complexity, while Kramer is, in the German style, not afraid to be simply unlikeable. While a couple instalments feel padded, this is a deserved word-of-mouth hit that holds together to its final moments. Go to Full Review

The spy thriller is a well-worked genre, but Unfamiliar feels fresh by virtue of the tautness of the writing and the way it’s mirrored in Ruff’s lucid direction, in which nothing happens without a reason. Go to Full Review

Michelle H @mholt8825 2d We loved this series and hope for a season 2. We are Americans who watched it on Netflix and my husband who doesn't really like international shows with subtitles enjoyed it. We thought the twists & turns were interesting and the production was very well done as well as the acting. Fun series! See more vijay V. @nyctechwatch 2d Double crosses and deep secrets all around. Some fun tradecraft and styles too. Look forward to season 2. See more Lori P @RT60959381 Mar 17 The beginning was slow. The last 3 episodes were my favorite. The show had twists which I loved. Rather frustrating at times. I can't wait to see next season. It overall kept me focused. See more Grayson S @Gs8628 Mar 15 The show started off good but quickly got boring and unbelievable. Also why is simon such a cuck See more De M @DeMythify Mar 12 Quality production, fine acting, but the problem here is the premise: 2 agents totally off radar for 16 years, believed to be dead, are willing to accept a suspicious call and ditch their daughters birthday? (Sorry, nope, no code word, no verification, no life or death situation: shot in the knee? Great, go to a f’in hospital! Seriously, when the foundation of all ensuing action is this bad, nothing after it means anything. I’m sorry, 🤮. So the entire series hinges on the character completely not following their obviously strict protocol for the sake of…plot convenience. Too many spy movies where people lazily tie up people who are trying to kill them. Sorry, these writers are writing from German cafes, imagining themselves being tough while having zero respect for people in life and death circumstances. Zero ability to actually write something character driven. See more Torben E @Torben Mar 7 Another uninspired clone of the Bourne-movies. Could have been decent but it's way to silly and absurd. Most of the time it's style over substance. A silly script combined with silly dialogues and awkward acting. It's tolerable if you're desperately waiting for the next Bond or Bourne movie...but keep your expectations low. See more Read all reviews
