The Season 3 finale did such a great job of wrapping up the series, we can't imagine where it could have gone next in Season 4.

The show -- an equal mix of odd comedy and dark psychological drama -- is anything but normal in its template. But also at its base, it's a warm, loving show about a family.

Collette takes what could have been a gimmicky role and does such a good job with it that it makes all other flaws of the program fade away. It's one of the best performances on television.

It's all laying the groundwork for a gripping, almost nightmarish second half of the season in which the life of every member of the Gregson family seems in danger of splintering as badly as Tara's psyche.
