L. F Sep 19 I absolutely LOVE the Untold series! I'm not a huge sports fan, rarely know the names and faces of people who feature in an episode, nor am I previously aware of the events covered, and yet I'm still absolutely gripped by the stories. A true sign of a documentary series done well! Excellent storytelling featuring brilliant contributors. See more Shaun R @Shaun666 Sep 16 Very good series. It’s always a good sign when you really enjoy a programme on certain topics or sports you usually aren’t interested in. See more Chris L 11/12/2022 Must-watch. Outstanding documentation of events and storytelling. Never once a bore during any of the episodes. Very hard to get lost in detail since they did such a great job transitioning between scenes. See more dave d 09/14/2022 It's fine. Not exactly hard-hitting journalism, but the four documentaries all tell stories worth hearing. See more mark b 09/04/2022 For my part, I'm infuriated by the loser who pulled this stunt. I'm so tired of living in a society that panders to and celebrates the selfish and the takers while judging and punishing the responsible and the makers. The documentary was really good, and probably worth of higher rating, except the part that excuses entirely selfish and destructive behavior. See more the s @The_Stranger 08/30/2022 Uninteresting. Almost unwatchable. I didn't know it was a documentary about football when I watched it but it is way more about football than the catfish situation. When I heard the guy say that he wanted to go to USC but he went to Notre Dame because his uncle mentioned ND and he took that as a sign that "god" wanted him to go to Notre Dame I literally laughed out loud. Really? A guy who thought God was talking to him was able to be catfished so easily? Seriously? And then the dad is kind of chastising his son for being in a relationship with a woman he'd never met in real life? Does anyone else see the irony here? And yes, it's sad that the guy got caught up in it but again, parents…you'll do much, much better to teach your kids about logic and reasoning skills than burying them in religion and prayer. It's so surreal to watch the guy tear up when he's talking about a girl who didn't even exist (and he knows that well at this point) after the accident that he knows didn't even happen. All that aside, it's simply not an interesting or well told story. It jumps around in the worst ways, lots of time to the point where it doesn't make much sense. Ultimately, it's just not an interesting enough story to document. It's not. My advice to the production company who produced this and to Netflix: search out better, more compelling stories and tell them. Stop trying to take boring stories and try to edit them in a way that attempts to make them more interesting. It doesn't work. See more Read all reviews
