Skilled as Applegate, Arnett and Rudolph are at making us laugh, they need dimension. If that doesn't develop, "Up All Night" could have the cutest baby and the funniest diaper jokes in the world and we still wouldn't stick around.
A cute little closing segment isn't enough to offset all the forced comedy preceding it.
"Up All Night'' might just help the struggling NBC find itself a small hit.
Though the Up All Night pilot falls short of great hilarity, the series demonstrates considerable potential.
The show's go-to jokes are pop culture references and ironic twists on pop culture references, which might be funny if they weren't so abundant and so obviously a tool to demonstrate how tapped-in our characters are.
Up All Night takes a familiar sitcom premise of a couple struggling with a new baby and breathes life into it with characters that are vibrant, funny and lovable.
While there's definite potential in the show, there were a few things about it that just didn't work.
Sitcom vets Arnett and Applegate have no problem generating laughs.
