"Politics is about people," former Sen. Selina Meyer is fond of saying. Unfortunately, the people Meyer, a charismatic leader and rising star in her party, meets after becoming vice president are nothing like she expected, but everything she was warned about. "Veep" follows the VP as she puts out political fires, juggles her public schedule and private life, and does everything within her limited powers to improve her dysfunctional relationship with the chief executive. Meyer's trusted -- and some not-so-trusted -- sidekicks include chief of staff Amy, one-time spokesperson Mike, and right-hand man Gary.

The ugly truths of Veep's fifth season shine bright, and it's more uncomfortable to watch than ever. Go to Full Review

Veep's edge has stayed razor-sharp. The fifth-season finale caps off a pitch-perfect run for the show. Go to Full Review

The familiar cast of gargoyles have retained an obsession with the rectal that reeks of the 18th century, but also of the production line: jokes manufactured with machine-tooled efficiency. Go to Full Review

The season finale is a shocker, with series regulars on the outs and new people ending up being in. Go to Full Review

Right now when politics seem to be filled with more despair than usual, laughing an incompetent president without fearing real world consequences offers a bit of catharsis. Go to Full Review

It remains one of the funniest shows on television, but for myself, there has to be more to the story being told. Go to Full Review

dave d 09/05/2021 It sneaks up on you, but it's great! Fantastic guest stars with a wonderful cast! Despite many changes behind the scenes, the show stays solid in front of the camera! See more 03/12/2020 Ep 9 of season 5 is one of the best tv I have I ever seen See more 10/09/2019 A satire dripping with acid wit, supported by an elaborate ensemble of infectious chemistry. Although she may have lost her presidency, VEEP's fifth season sees the series at its most thoughtful, thematically potent, and most of all, pain-stakingly hilarious. I mean you know you're the best comedy on television when Jonah Ryan is in congress! Iroh's grade: A- See more 03/02/2018 Clever, funny, and quick. Best joke per minute on TV. JLD is awesome. See more 08/06/2017 Selina Meyer's first full year as president leads to perhaps the series' best season yet, and thanks to some unexpected sub-plots with her daughter (the show's most reserved characters) the series feels more eclectic too. See more 07/09/2016 Something is missing from this season. The acting is still great but the dialogue is nowhere near the level of excellence of previous seasons. See more Read all reviews
