Veronica Mars: Season 2 (2005-2006)

Critic Consensus: She may have solved the murder of her best friend, but everyone's favorite teen sleuth still has plenty of high school drama and danger to go around in Veronica Mars' successful second season.

Critic Reviews for Veronica Mars: Season 2

All Critics (12) | Top Critics (5)

Season 2 of "Veronica Mars" doesn't hold together quite as well as Season 1, but this finale still has its brutality, which remains resonate years later. Poor Beaver. Poor everyone else.

The second outing just couldn't measure up in quality. It was about the whole town and the social injustice inherent to places like Neptune in real-world America, but it just couldn't generate enough adrenaline to last 22-hours.

A total whirlwind.

Now that Lilly Kane's murder is solved and it's the start of a new school year at Neptune High, things might seem a little too quiet in this second season of Veronica Mars. Not to worry.

Mixed in with the same witty and cheeky dialogue and characterizations that made the first season so enjoyable, this show continues to be one of the most entertaining things out there.

Audience Reviews for Veronica Mars: Season 2

Super Reviewer

Like any good television show, Veronica Mars takes it to a whole new level in Season 2. The series expands and gets richer as the scope opens up to explore multiple characters and their journeys. However, the main arc of the season follows a school bus crash that kills several students, and Veronica suspects that she was the intended target. Season 2 juggles a lot of plots, and it succeeds with most of them. There are also a slew of guest stars this season, including Kevin Smith, Joss Whedon, Lucy Lawless, and Michael Cera. Additionally, Charisma Carpenter, Krysten Ritter, and Steve Guttenberg join the cast as recurring characters. With a star as bright as Veronica Mars there is always the chance that it will burn out, but Season 2 shines as strong and as passionately as the first.
