Veronica Mars: Season 4 Videos

Tv Season Info

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town's lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son's killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave's wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast's answer to Daytona Beach.

Having basically achieved whatever-ness in record time-I mean, they definitely could have just broken up in a final seeming way, but it's fine, another show I don't have to watch!

Veronica Mars has gotten a warier, moodier makeover... with higher stakes, a deeply cynical sensibility, and an ending that leaves a bitter aftertaste.

The twists and turns, which include both beloved returning characters and new faces viewers will 100 percent fall in love with, are entertaining, but at times, take too much thought.

This iteration of "Veronica Mars" is fiery, dangerous, and unpredictable. Veronica wouldn't have it any other way.

Season 4 is a far cry from the immediacy and charm of Season 1, though there are, at least, some bright spots.

Even a mediocre Veronica Mars episode is better than most TV.

Veronica Mars is still a fun show to watch. It's decidedly less fun than it used to be. Thoughts of its theme song's refrain, "we used to be friends," remain ever-present.

The revival season makes a one-to-one correlation between Mexicans and criminality. Sigh.

Jul 29, 2019 | Rating: C | Full Review…

In between enjoyable moments of comedic relief, Veronica Mars is still a fairly dark, noir fiction-based story, an oddly pleasing juxtaposition that has always characterized the show.

While Veronica Mars Season Four recaptures much of the original show's magic, it also makes bold, grown-up choices that won't be for everyone, either.

Smart, funny. The storyline is fine, but the real draw is watching Kristen Bell reprise her role as VM. Now in her 30's, her skills are top-notch and her relationship with her dad has matured. This season gave me that warm nostalgic feeling in my ❤️.

They turned what used to be a gentle teen, mystery drama, into an amazing, detective show. They upped their game and are on par with some of the other great shows on Hulu. I'm so impressed.

I hated what they did to Veronica's character. She was missing all the underlying kindness that used to let her get away with treating people badly. I missed the supporting characters. I hated how they made Veronica a recreational drug user considering her history. I hated that they'd constantly set the story up to tackle a real issue and then wouldn't do anything with it. I hated how they made Keith's health problems magically disappear. I hated that they made Veronica's marriage and baby issues magically disappear. Especially cause they never actually talked about why she had any of them. I hated that they barely made Veronica investigate. I hated that she barely solved anything. She didn't even solve the case, her dad did. I hated that they they used soap opera trope after trope after trope to make the ending happen. I hate that if they felt the need to kill off Logan, they couldn't even do it well. I hated the time jump forward that didn't even allow Veronica to grieve. I hate that supposedly we're to believe she'd still be an investigator after her negligence got the love of her life blow up. She's quit being a P.I. for less before. I hate that show plans to abandon Neptune and her calling there when it had been previously sold as her hero's journey. I hate that they think I want to watch Veronica at her least likable quipping at strangers and never dealing with any of her pain. I hate that they don't know that my knowledge of her pain will remove all my enjoyment of her acting like she's fine. I have no desire to watch Veronica flirt and take on lovers. I hated how they ignored other characters histories to shoehorn them into the plot. I hated that mystery was so full of holes. I hated that even though this was true, I still knew exactly who the killer was. They've only ever had 2 archetypes for villains in this series. I hate how I used to forgive that because the story still contained my favorite characters and now I can't. Now Veronica is unlikeable and everyone else has been marginalized or will be. Or in Logan's case, killed off. I hate that they think bad mysteries by themselves will drive the show moving forward. Basically, I hated way more of it than I liked and I hate where they plan to take the show in the future. They shouldn't be destroying what the show was. And if they were going to, they should have at least done it well. Such a major fail on so many levels. Not only made me uninterested in future seasons, but tainted my overall enjoyment of series as a whole.

A great storyline with appropriate plot twists. It was great seeing the characters again. A very unexpected ending...

Rob Thomas seems to be confused about what people liked about Veronica Mars. We didn't watch it because of the mysteries. We watched it because of the characters. While I definitely don't care to see the will they or won't they garbage of the teen soap genre, I don't understand why Logan couldn't just be the husband. He could become her sidekick in future mysteries the way V. used Mac and Wallace in prior seasons. A show without Logan is not a show worth watching. Rob better realize how upset people are about Logan, and write Jason Dohring into every episode of next season as flashbacks the way they did with Lily Kane. That is the only way I would tolerate season 5. The dead husband was in every episode of Big Little Lies season 2 so it's not unprecedented. Also, the writing was poor this season even before the death. Logan and Veronica's storyline was so lame. Really fighting about getting married? He's in the Navy. We couldn't have seen him swept up on a big mission with Veronica trying to help out or figure something out? I will say though that I am glad they didn't assassinate Logan's character by making him a cheating jerk or something like that. I am also glad we didn't see them break up. I hate what they did to Danny's character in the Mindy Project. They made him so unlikeable that I hated him and stopped watching the show. Writers seem to think they have to end romances to keep viewer interest. They seem to forget that viewers also lose interest if you kill their favorite character. I watched seasons 1-3 and the movie. I am so disappointed with this season. Your gamble was a disastrous one. Fans will not get over this one. I am hoping this feedback helps you realize why people actually tuned in. The plot of the new season was predictable. The atmosphere of Neptune is lost forever. All characters have changed beyond recognition for the worse. The shocking, ridiculous finale was made only to throw the favorite character and actor out of the show for the sake of the Kristen Bell's ambitions. I am not interested in continuing to watch. Too bad, Rob Thomas. You betrayed me.

Now, I absolutely LOVE this show. But the ending of S4, absolutely ruined the whole show for me. The writers need to listen to their fans and bring logan back.

Awful. Not the Veronica Mars we all loved. Unnecessary death of the best character on the show. The show was more than Veronica. We watched for all of the supporting characters and their stories too. Not watching ever again!

This was quite possibly the worst of the worst. A misogynist view of how trauma impacts a female character that culminates with even more trauma to (as Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell said) "make the character more complex." Throughout the season, Veronica is shown as a boozy, quarrelsome person who emotionally cheats on her boyfriend. Then, when given an out by Logan, instead of being honest, she emotionally blackmails him, telling him if anything happened to him and her father, she would "stick her head in the oven." And then the end is just a cheap cop-out of an actual conclusion that seems like it was picked out of a hat (and actually ended up being the same plot device used in another Rob Thomas show, iZombie with different outcomes.) Veronica Mars should have ended with the books because as far as I'm concerned, there is no S4.

I loved season 4 right till the end then it was like a gut punch!!!!!! If the story is changing to be a Noir Mystery only i'm assuming all the characters are disposable. It would have been interesting to see Dicks character development now that he has no one everyone that was significant in his life is now gone.
