Much less gross and shocking themes than the first two seasons, but still maintains the suspense. It conforms to a historical setting as a backdrop, but it is really about the friendship between the analyst and the detective. An intelligent period piece detective drama. This 3rd season is a bit more serious than Poirot but similar in overall feel. The addition of the psychoanalytic observations is fun too, regardless of how you feel about Freud.
