See more Martin B 06/28/2023 Nobody does WWII movies in the modern era better then the Norwegians. The backdrop always dark and ominous as befits the times. Action sequences perfectly timed to advance the story but not over done like most movies these days. The acting so good it's impossible not to get caught up in the characters lives it's so convincing. The English dubbing can wreck a movie but hee is so good you barely notice. WWII is the backdrop but people's lives and what they had to sacrifice the story. Freddy exceeds expectations at sea and eventually comes home a shell of a man. Broken when he comes home and broken in old age but in spite of everything the family stays together. A very emotional. See more Jason B @MrMoovees 05/25/2023 An incredible 3 part series about a Norwegian sailor dragged unwillingly into a catastrophic war. It is beautifully filmed, harrowing, and terrifying at once. The physical and psychological toll the war took on those involved, and the heartbreaking aftermath of it all is fully realized. A must watch for fans of war films or anyone for that matter. In trying to show us what was going on in the minds and hearts of the characters, it missed the mark of engaging character development. It came across as painfully ponderous.
