Good dramatizations, insightful commentary, even if "Washington's" George looks nothing like George. Go to Full Review

It is for this reason that "Washington" is so desperately needed right now: Americans who support Trump have forgotten Washington's most vital lesson, and it is important that they be reminded of it. Go to Full Review

The first episode of Washington moves along nicely, the battle scenes are done reasonably well and Rowe does a good job filling the shoes of the great George Washington. Go to Full Review

Sarah T. @SarahT8 Jun 28 This was a fantastic film, and I really enjoyed it. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the graphic violence was far more intense than I expected. I had hoped to watch it with my kids, but within the first few minutes there was a scalping scene that made it impossible. I ended up watching it alone, which was disappointing because the film has important lessons and themes that would have been great for them. I just don’t think such explicit, bloody scenes were necessary to tell the story or get the message across. While the series provides one of the deeper cinematic explorations of George Washington that I've experienced, it feels more focused on the Revolution and his public life than on the man himself. In many ways, a title like Washington's Rebellion might have better reflected its scope. I found myself wanting more on his early years—his surveying career, his relationship with his half-brother Lawrence, the often-strained dynamic with his mother, and other personal details that shaped the man before history made him a legend. Those areas are touched upon, but not explored as fully as I would have liked. Still, what is covered is handled exceptionally well. The dramatic reenactments, narration by Jeff Daniels, and insights from historians combine to create an educational and highly enjoyable experience. Though it could have been longer, Washington remains one of See more Walt S. @RT36330541 Jun 14 Loved this series. Very worthwhile if you enjoy history of great people. A lot to learn by watching this. See more Randy H @Randy712 May 19 I thought the show was very well done. It covered a lot of ground in a relative short amount of time, focusing on the pivotal moments of Washington's life. I highly recommend it. This should be a mandatory watch in High School. See more Tom K @RT95668284 12/08/2024 Bill Clinton is a lead off guest commentator, let that be your guide as to credibility.
