Far different from the usual jazz profile, Shorter transcended that narrow category in both his music and his life, and his story is worthy of the time allotted. Miles Davis aggressively pursues Shorter to replace John Coltrane. Shorter's musical virtuosity and compositions take Miles Davis' Quintet into a new direction.
