What appears to be yet another Twin Peaks/David Lynch-inspired knockoff quickly evolves into something far more sinister.

But if you go into the story, you can enjoy a perfect series for the summer season. [Full Review in Spanish]

I'll be eagerly watching the rest of this series, not just to find out what on earth is going on, but for the weird, unsettling atmosphere of the creepy little town of Wayward Pines.

Based on the early episodes of Wayward Pines, the TV trend may once again have audiences mentioning Shyamalan's name among that pack.

Shyamalan has built his career on pulling the proverbial chair from underneath his viewers, but this is the closest something with his name on it has come to matching the... epiphany of The Sixth Sense.

If you're looking for a network series more substantial than the usual summer fling, consider Wayward Pines, M. Night Shyamalan's episodic mystery thriller.

It is a cult looking for a following, and it's already got me on board as a beady-eyed acolyte.

Welcome to Wayward Pines, where nothing is certain, no one can be trusted, and imitation is not only the highest form of flattery, it's a way of life.

[It] deserves to be taken on its own terms for what it is: a super engaging, extremely fun puzzle.

I love the cast. It's hard not to when it is full of Oscar nominees and winners. Melissa Leo's Nurse Pam is seriously scary. Listening to her describe how Ethan was going to be awake, but immobile, during surgery sent a shudder through me.

It takes a while - two episodes, at least - for the viewer to really tune into its odd wavelength.

The five episodes provided for review... are puzzling without really being involving.

Mostly it's good, creepy fun, a round-the-fire story of a series that may turn out to be about something bigger than it seems.
