They also developed the Nathan character to show his many layers and his deep undying love for Elizabeth. Although throughout the season it kind of felt like a lot of the storylines did not have resolution. Episode12 though was the ABSOLUTE WORSE! I have NEVER seen anything like it. It was like watching a bipolar movie. The whole season we are being told about this amazing love story about over coming your fears and love being worth fighting for, Nathan gets dragged through the mud waiting for his redemption moment, which NEVER COMES!!! The last 10 minutes of the episodes Elizabeth goes into a delusional tirade and picks Lucas. E12 felt like they flipped the script and wanted us to believe she's really inlove with Lucas. After 3 seasons of watching Elizabeth pine after Nathan through her words, actions, and body language.... and with no consistent signs that she felt that way towards Lucas, she picks Lucas! HM messed up and has lost a loyal fan and my money. I will not be watching S9. See more 05/18/2021 I was extremely disappointed with this season and ESPECIALLY the finale. It seemed very disjointed and didn't make any sense or go along with the whole early 1900's era. It feels like it has turned more soap opera instead of a story of a rich pampered girl going out to teach in a remote pioneer town and the hardships and triumphs of life on the frontier with her Mountie. They had it leading up to her marrying her Mountie after Jack dies and then suddenly they put her with the local bartender/saloon runner and card shark and try to make a "saint" out or him. It's reallly weird. Do yourself and huge favour and don't get involved in this show. You will be jerked around emotionally and then in the end be in shock and disgust. I have over the last 3 seasons lost a lot of respect for Elisabeth's character and she may as well head back home to her rich Daddy and marry Charles. I'm pretty disgusted with the weird story line, very poor writing. See more Read all reviews
