I liked S1 and S2 , but this S4 became unwatchable, woke garbage, and killed a doctor just to justify these 2 going back together? Even the car hit was from the pregnant lady's side, but she is fine, and her husband died in a hospital. This is cartoonish. The first two thirds of the season feel very up and down in quality. Also, the more serious storyline regarding Will's demons and mental health seem to stop and start, with a lack of continuity. I have always appreciated that the storyline's are a bit rushed due to the limited running time but some of them are outright rubbish or captured poorly with awkward romances shoehorned in. I feel like the last third picked up the quality but it just felt a little late in the day. Like always I still love the characters but it feels like things are falling apart around them. Unfortunately I think each season has been worse than the one before. The books the series are based on are brilliant, but this show does them no justice. It doesn't seem to know whether it's a comedy drama in the genre of something like Monk or a gritty drama. I only dip in to watch these episodes when there's nothing else on. Dyslexia is portrayed as being illiterate, everything is cured with 5 ccs of lorazepam (ativan), and as I finished the binge I watched the latest episodes to come out and it feels like it's finally jumped the shark. I made it 4 seasons. It was a wild ride of absolute terrible writing. I wonder how many more seasons the studios will try to get out of this bled stone. It was so bad I probably won't continue watching the show after this. Even though Will Trent was never faithful to the book series, it still had a lot of charm and was enjoyable to watch. This season was devoid of charm, featured unnecessary character deaths, and a lot of self indulgent storylines. It was like the writers and show runners were determined to ruin a good thing.
