Expanding on the saga while leaving plenty of room for callbacks to the original, this series-length sequel should satisfy fans who've been patiently waiting for more Willow.

The Disney+ Willow series was a breath of fresh air, harkening back to a bygone era of onscreen epic fantasy more focused on being delightful than profound. Go to Full Review

Sustained interest, however, will be stymied by a cast of largely bland new characters and, more pressing still, a dearth of sweeping excitement. Go to Full Review

It’s a fantasy series full of action, love, friendship, and beautiful landscapes. Like its predecessor, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which helps balance the humor with the seriousness of the story. Go to Full Review

The series knows its capacity for greatness. It’s tapping into it that proves most difficult. In turn, its lessons, some carried over from the past, feel more timeless than ever. Go to Full Review

There is a kind of simplicity, a sense of comfort, and an air of whimsy to the show that puts it right in the middle of the Shakespearean self-seriousness of The Rings of Power and the edgy self-seriousness of House of the Dragon. Go to Full Review

H v Jan 4 Unbelievable bad in so many ways See more Jonathan @JJBlade Jul 27 Horrible! Horrible music. Horrible acting. Horrible writing. Horrible dialogue. Great special effects. See more Hughe J @Hughe Jul 20 Willow was released on streaming in 2022 and ran for one season before it was not only cancelled but also completely removed from the Disney streaming service. Warwick Davis reprises his role As Willow, he played the same character in the 1988 theatrical release, but he is not the star of the show. This show is about the diverse, angsty, twenty something cast that meander about making snarky and very modern sounding comments while doing very little. Gone is the charm and fun of the original movie as every male is weak or evil and every female is a strong girl boss. The acting across the board is just awful as many times it feels like the cast is reading their lines for the first time in a rehearsal. The choreography is bad, the costumes are silly, and the writing is a war crime. I don't know who this show was intended for but clearly that group wasn't interested, and neither was I - this was just a really bad series. See more Vici E Jun 24 It took me a few episodes to really settle into Willow, but once it clicked, I was all in. The costumes were gorgeous, the fantasy world rich and immersive, and the quirky friendships between the characters completely won me over. There’s a charm and sincerity to the show that made it feel fresh and nostalgic all at once. Just as it was finding its rhythm and deepening its world, I found myself genuinely excited for what would come next—so the cancellation is a real disappointment. Willow deserved more time to grow, and I would’ve loved to see where the journey led. See more K F May 24 From the very first couple scenes you know the series is doomed from the use of American actor with American accents playing fantasy medieval royalty. And of course they sound like spoiled suburban teenagers arguing with their parents about taking the car in the here and now. And of course--just because it is now a cliché and that's what mainstream, mediocre American television runs on--the princess and her best friend HAVE TO BE lesbian lovers--cause that's what is required in EVERY show now. Disney truly does ruin everything it touches. See more Joseph D @JRDzencelowcz Apr 25 Well, I finally got around to seeing the series, now I'm really ticked off we won't get seasons 2 or 3. It had such potential, & Disney KILLED it! WHAT. WERE. THEY. THINKING??!!! Somebody find a way to get the rights to the franchise so we can see the rest of the story!! See more Read all reviews
