Season 1
Wisdom of the Crowd

Critics Consensus

Wisdom of the Crowd wastes a talented cast on a formulaic procedural crime drama that wavers between modest returns and unintentional laughs.

Critic Reviews for Wisdom of the Crowd Season 1

All Critics (19) | Top Critics (11)

"Procedural" crime dramas have a much better chance to live long and prosper on CBS than Fox. So Wisdom of the Crowd has that going for it in contrast to APB.

Piven is a gifted actor who brings something original and fresh to most of his roles, and that's the fundamental promise of Wisdom -- otherwise a boilerplate procedural in high-tech drag.

Crowd basically tosses a lot of the U.S. Constitution to the curb and mainly serves to splatter another one of those ugly, mean-spirited shows like 2015's cancelled Stalker on the small screen.

And to think CBS's Sunday night was once home to a prestige drama like The Good Wife and now it's a parking spot for this disappointment.

Oct 25, 2017 | Full Review…

This new Jeremy Piven series is proving to be one of the more naive and ludicrous shows of the fall season.

Oct 23, 2017 | Full Review…

This is another earnest procedural on CBS that's just sort of 'meh.'

Compelling tech-driven crime drama raises ethical issues.

For unintentional laughs, mixed with gasps of horror, give CBS' Wisdom of the Crowd a look.

The series is playing with a lot of timely issues, but, at least based on the pilot, not with a lot of thought

Oct 5, 2017 | Full Review…

How long Wisdom of the Crowd strings out its core investigation-the one about Mia-may make a difference in the show's shelf life, but the first week's digression, so to speak, raises the stakes.

The reward for tuning in is modest at best.

I'd argue that Wisdom of the Crowd isn't ideologically left or right, but rather just building a bad premise badly or, rather, treating a nightmare like a dream.

Audience Reviews for Wisdom of the Crowd: Season 1

This show had a darn good cast and interesting premise. However, it needed something more for them, and Piven to do. He needed the writers to roll out the villain besides the bureaucrats at Allsourcer (a villain which didn't show after 13 episodes) to unleash Piven and team.

This series is clearly socially critical and serves all Left-liberal stereotypical viewpoints. Far too much for me, the only thing missing is that the series tells me that I am the problem as a white man.

I watch this show every week. I understand why it was cancelled, but I want to know what happens!! I don’t understand why more people didn’t enjoy the show. It’s not as good as NCIS, but it is kind of interesting.

it's ok.... read it was canned
  • Jan 15, 2018
This is one of the best shows that we have seen in a long time!!!!! We followed it on CBS ALL ACCESS NETWORK AND REGULAR television! Who killed Mia??? You realize that most people never knew the show existed??? A little support from the Network would save an amazing show with an amazing cast!

This is an outstanding show with a great cast. It moves crime fighting from the boring Law & Order days to high-tech fun. Its currently my boys favorite show and has become a ritual for our Sunday nights.
