A satire about struggling actors and the ludicrous Hollywood inequality they’re trying to get around doesn’t sound like a particularly original idea, but when you plug it into the dour world of Marvel superheroes it’s actually a welcome change of pace.

Television entertainment that returns to the "origins" of what it means to be a superhero. Here, saving others isn't the goal; instead, it’s about saving oneself and those one loves—finding oneself and knowing who you are without being consumed by the consequences of the extraordinary. We find friendship in its purest sense here. Plausible fear. Choices, disappointments, relief, surprises, villains... there are no monsters descending from the sky to snap their fingers, but rather the harsh reality of a man having to overcome obstacles—and here, his name is Magnum.
