The show’s animation is just gorgeous. The colours, the movement, the details–they added to the immersive experience of the story. The characterizations were stellar–characters who hadn’t been given their due came alive here.

Bastion controls humans that have been turned into Prime Sentinels to enslave Mutants. This is an awesome continuation from the original by introducing new villains and Mutants while telling a great story.

While X-Men '97 honors the 90s visual legacy, its execution severely trips over its own ambition. The pacing is frantic, relying on abrupt continuity jumps. Unless you have an encyclopedic knowledge of X-Men lore, you will feel lost regarding Cable’s timeline, Genosha, or the sudden Rogue-Magneto-Gambit triangle. The show completely cuts narrative breathing room. The biggest sin, however, is sacrificing action for endless, heavy-handed philosophizing. At times, it feels like sitting through a debate with sophomore philosophy students. X-Men has always been political, but here, the allegory swallows the plot. Characters stop acting like real heroes and become soapboxes for contemporary moralizing. Because screen time is hogged by dense ethical debates and a melancholic atmosphere, the actual superhero adventure is reduced to rushed montages. It prefers lecturing over letting us enjoy the ride.

The best thing Marvel has made in the nine years since Endgame. It even makes you wonder what the greatest scene in Marvel's history might be. The story, its execution, and the characters are masterfully crafted, while the overarching villain they begin weaving into every scene ties everything together perfectly. This is a must-watch series on Disney+.

I cant believe this is Disney. Its just as good as the original, other than dulling down the curves on female characters, which was a terrible decision, so im taking ones star off in protest, but the series is incredibly well done regardless.
