I thought the first episode was derivative but I'm glad I kept watching-- the remaining episodes had me absolutely captivated. I'm sure there was a lot of simplification and generalizing for the non-scientist (I am in that group) but it was still a beautiful exercise in exploring the potential of humanity. Unlike dystopian movies, there might be hope for us after all.

I watched the first episode of Year Million. Amongst all the fear mongering that we have to accept that we will all become slaved to AI technology in the future, all I could think of was, "Just don't make AI that can teach itself. Shut off the technology now." As a result, I have decided to wean myself off of technology and enjoy life as it is meant to be seen - in the real world, and not through a device!

I've watched 3 episodes so far and have found them all fascinating and well put-together. I thought the information was presented in an effective and accessible way. Mind-blowing, and I see there are many aspects of scientific development to be cautious about. The scary part is that it seems like a runaway train...
