Marco L @decatur555 Apr 5 Yellowstone is one of those rare series that feels bigger than its plot. It is a family tragedy, a modern western, and a brutal elegy for a world built on land, blood, power, and loyalty. Kevin Costner is phenomenal as John Dutton, giving the show its hard, wounded center, but the whole cast is strong. For me, though, Kelsey Asbille is the standout. Every scene she is in feels sharper and more alive. What makes the series hit so hard is not only the drama, but the way it turns landscape, music, silence, and violence into something almost mythic. Yes, it can be excessive, repetitive, and proudly melodramatic, but that is part of its identity. It has soul, presence, and a real emotional weight that stays with you. The problem is you have to sit through it because you want to know how the story ends but it is like watching a poorly written soap opera. See more Pat H @BigFrisco Jan 26 Season 1 starts a little slow but it really gets going with 2-4, but the second half of 5 is time spent watching Taylor ride a horse and weak side stories. It basically negates the whole series from what might have been a great show to lame soap. It’s too bad the writers couldn’t bring it all together, you would be much more entertained watching reruns of The bold and the beautiful. See more Amber H. @Ambush88 Jan 8 Beth is insufferable, she’s the worst character. She has no consequences, she’s entitled and reckless and needs to find a hobby other than terrorizing Jamie. She honestly ruins the entire show for me. I wish they wrote it in a way where she learned to forgive Jamie as he was just a kid when she asked this huge favor of him and she was the one who wanted him to deal with it AND the reality is she would’ve had to consent to all of sterilization and whole procedure and realistically would’ve known and couldn’t have blamed Jamie so basing her whole character and hatred off of that and making it her whole personality to ruin him and his life is so drawn out and overplayed by season 5 and John conditioned him to be this sheepish people pleasing brown noser of a man and then they hate him for being what they created.
