I think this season lacks a closure, which frustrated me a bit. Maybe not as good as other 4 seasons, but still good.

Absolutely brilliant from start to end. Well done Kevin!

Another great series turns to garbage. The whole way they treat Rip is unacceptable.

yellowstone season 5 has me wondering will there be another season?

      • Sep 04, 2023

Stopped watching midway through episode 2. Too much animal cruelty displayed. Not necessary to the plot. Sickening to watch. Will not watch any more of this horrible series.

Yellowstone is the worst show on tv. Terrible writing, and an unreal amount of toxic masculinity on display in every episode. It's like the writers just said to hell with character development, lets focus on style over substance. Beth is in my estimation the worst television character of all time. I wince when she speaks. Do the writers not know any women? No one talks like this or acts like this. Nonstop murder with no consequences because it's for the greater good of the ranch. And Jamie is supposed to be a weak villain because he represents the coastal elite, but psychopathic Beth is a hero? And ultra-violent Rip is the fan favorite? I can appreciate the soap opera quality of the show, and the locations are breathtakingly beautiful. But the writing- just cringe from start to finish. The characters are an example of how not to be, unless you think stoic anger and a predisposition to violence are good personality traits.

Every show either ends on a high note or loses its creative path and stumbles into mediocrity. It saddens me to say that Season 5 has lost its path. The season is full of rehashed story lines that don't move the show forward, far to much time spent on self righteous preaching about the superiority of the fictional Dutton cowboy way of life to an assortment of country music songs and little in the way of tension and intrigue that made the first 4 seasons so memorable. Thankfully there were moments in the final episode that built a foundation for the final episodes to return the show to past creative glory.

I loved the series until the second episode of season five. I was extremely disappointed to see so much hate between siblings and Costner's apparent distain for Montana other than his ranch. The acting is superb. So good in fact I worry about the actors after they portray such single minded ambition and pure hatred for family members. I hope for their sakes, work stays at work. I'll try to get past that second episode. IMHO, the story is getting too dark. I was disgusted when Costner, as an elected Governor said it was all about his ranch. I spent 25 years in the military. I'm appalled that kind of person had a say in putting my life at risk for all those years. It hit home way too deep. Stellar acting, scenery, etc. No other complaints other than the very dark turn of the story.
