The Kingdom
The Kingdom (2007)

Intense, powerful and gripping. This film takes you on a journey of justice, vengeance and fear. Strong performances by most of the cast and just enough comic relief to not deter from the serious issues being portrayed. Loved the camera work and cinematography, however the dialogue was a little hard to follow at times. I'm not too sure about the film's message, but the ending is well executed.

Ratatouille (2007)

Absolutely fantastic. A sheer work of art in so many ways. The script was excellent, the score superb. The voice acting was perfect and the character animation is the best I've seen so far... you actually forget you're watching an animated film. I have to say, I'm loving Michael Giacchino's work, he's fast becoming one of my favourite composers.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Pleasantly exceeded my expectations... it was actually a very enjoyable film. A darker, more mature film compared to the first, still with plenty of laughs and interesting action sequences. Although it was a fair bit modified from the novel, most of the main elements were still there and dare I say it may even be an improvement. Although the Susan/Caspian subplot was entirely unnecessary. The cinematography was beautiful and the score was excellent. One standout compared to the first was the greatly improved visual effects... very impressive. Overall, a great fantasy film perfect for the whole family.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

The action was great, the cast was decent, the score was excellent, the script was okay, but the story... lame. I did however like the references to the earlier films, and while it has it's moments, it falls dismally short of the standard set by the previous Indy films.
