Movie Ratings and Reviews

Meh. Def not a kids movie!
It was enjoyable enough, but had quite a few bad parts. It was probably worth the watch, but not something to run out and rent. I only remember one of the jokes I laughed at, lol... although, I did laugh a couple more times, at least, I think.

*Quote spoiler*
Rango: "Mmm, spicy!"
Beans: You are eating his ashes!
Rango: [spits, disgusted] Eh! You carry his remains?
Beans: [takes jar, reseals it] No! His ashes; he loved to smoke. They never found the body.

Haha, that was pretty ingenious! XD

Melinda and Melinda

A very stupid movie! Dull, pointless, and full of bad morals.

The only redeeming factor is that Will Ferrell is so awesome. Everything he says is funny. Even if the movie is stupid.

Du Barry Was a Lady

A really delightful classic! I was pleasantly surprised how funny it was for such an old movie. A quirky and witty comedy!

Kung Fu Panda

I think it was amazing! One of the best movies of the summer so far if you can believe that! It was really funny, pretty action packed (for a cartoon), and it had Jackie Chan in it!! It might be a little intense at points for very young children, but for the most part it's cartoony violence. I love kung fu movies, so maybe I'm a little biased, but there's something in this movie for everyone, even if they don't get all the classic martial arts film style referneces. All the pandomonium is true, prepare for awesomeness, skadoosh!

This movie had a lot of shooting in it. Obviously. It was definately a good action movie! It might be a little violent for some, with all the heads exploding and such. There's also a good deal of language in it. It definately earned it's R rating, and isn't for a movie for children. However, if you're desensitized to violence and language (shame on you) then it's a great action packed thriller! The political undertones and references were annoying, but they can be ignored.

This is the ultimate thriller! This is how movies should be made! It's thrilling and suspenseful, it proves you don't need to say a bunch of curses to make a point, and it has a vaguely generic Christian message (though it was hardly a convincing coming from someone wearing a Roman collar) all with an ending that makes you go 'Oh. OH! Oooooh!'

Stranger Than Fiction

A more serious Will Ferrell film, but still funny. Not for the younger audience because of sexual themes as well as a surprisingly violent scene.

The Invisible

A very good movie. It was really sad, though.

Saw II
Saw II(2005)

You can definately see the series getting more violent in this one. I think this movie may be the place where I quit the Saw series. This one is a really good movie if you can take the violence, and it's ending was just about as good as the first!

Orange County

It definately was a funny movie, but in a more serious way. I love Colin Hanks from Roswell, and he was good in this movie. There was too much homosexual humor/propaganda for my taste though.

WaSanGo (Volcano High)

I saw the MTV version, and man they biffed it up! What a mess! Those famous black rappers' voices did NOT work, I don't know what the American producers were thinking!

But then I watched the first part of the original Korean version, and since I saw the whole movie already I didn't even use subtitles cuz I knew what was going on. It totally saved the movie! The plot was alot more understandable, the characters more likable, the music much more fitting, and no stupid daydream! :D I'm gonna have to watch the whole original sometime now.

The Killer
The Killer(1989)

It was mostly a guns movie, which is fine, but I guess I was expecting more martial arts. It was a good movie, but the ending was kind've strange. It had great action scenes, but the score (which was pretty good) got really old because they kept repeating the same music. It's a good dramatic action movie though. Not specifically my thing though.

The movie was a suspenseful cat and mouse thriller. Although it didn't have a big shocking twist at the end, it did keep you wondering how in the world he was getting away with it.

Thou Shalt Laugh

Absolutely hilarious! I love Thor Ramsey, Joby Saad, and Taylor Mason! The others were really funny too. Good clean comedy for the whole family!

(P.S. it actually did get a little risque' at times.)

This movie was so awesome!! Aside from the minor predictability of it. I mean come on, it's a suicidal save the world mission in a Danny Boyle film. But how it falls apart and everyone starts dying is very inventive. It's not a nonstop thrilling blow 'em up action flick... so don't even try to watch it if that's what you're looking for. It's more of an intellectual thriller. Once again John Murphy did the score and it was amazing! I can't wait to get the soundtrack!

Sense and Sensibility

A very charming movie. Just as good as Pride And Pejudice, but this one has Hugh Laurie!!!

The Contract
The Contract(2006)

A very decent film, but nothing special. Great actors with great acting even if Morgan Freeman was hard to believe as a heartless contract killer. It was suspenseful, but thoughtful, and without a whole lot action and a little predictable. Not a must see, but it's not an entire waste of time either. Rated R for violence, language, and nudity.

Dragon Wars
Dragon Wars(2007)

This movie is basically what you see is what you get. Not very good storywise, it didn't have good character development and it was full of eastern mystecism. But it had really good special effects! Plus I have to give it props because it stars Jason Behr, who I haven't seen since Roswell. If you want a movie where dragons *ahem* giant snakes destroy things, then come right in! But it doesn't do much for the intellectual.

The Kingdom
The Kingdom(2007)

A fast paced thrill ride! A great action movie!

All I have to say is 'wow'. And 'bravo!'. This was a very good movie! They tried something new, and it works! They already have at least 2 other movies coming out using this ploy of average joe's and their cameras. But back to this movie, it was very suspenseful and entertaining. The way it didn't give you all the answers at the end added to it's charm. My only complaint is with the violence... this earned a very hard PG-13. I was surprised by what they let get by in it. Not a movie for the faint of heart or nauseous.

Ash Wednesday

I dunno, it was a decent thriller. Kind've slow though. Very moody. All the language got old real fast, and the way it glorified the catholic church... plus the way they played the one strand of music throughout the whole movie. Elijah Wood looked way too young for his role. It all adds up to a movie that's not worth seeing unless you have nothing better to do.

Definately NOT a kiddie movie. There were many parts where one of my younger sibs had to look away or cringe. That and for Robert DeNiro's horrible role I cannot give this movie a full 5 stars. But it was really fun, entertaining and magical. A great fantasy movie, one of the best along with LOTR. Definately worth seeing, but just make sure the young'uns are in bed first.

Land of the Dead

The movie itself was really creepy, suspenseful, entertaining, and maybe even believeable. It was great fun! It was also really gorey, but what do you expect when watching a zombie movie. Thankfully the nudity was kept at a minimum. I was worried about that since I accidently bought the unrated directors cut. So if you like this kind've movie, and don't mind a bunch of gore (let me restate that there was ALOT) then this movie is a must see! Like Saw. But if you are squeamish or just have a good moral compass in choosing movies, you can give it a pass.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

A very good movie! I can't decide which NT is better. This one had bigger badder stunts and clues, but it also made it less believable. Justin Bartha as Riley was given more room to work with and better lines and he pulled it off brilliantly! I haven't been able to stop saying "I wish a girl could see me do that." since I saw it!

I Am Legend
I Am Legend(2007)

A great perfomance by Will Smith! It was a suspenseful movie, but I was a little dissapointed with the lack of action. I was blown away by such a huge pro-God message too, it was awesome!

A very good Van Damme movie! Not one of his best, but definately worth seeing.

Amazing Grace

It was a very worthwhile movie! I wish they'd make more like this. It was uplifting and positive, motivational, entertaining... you might even say it was, well, amazing! :)

It was very funny, and pretty decently clean compared to most hollywood movies.

Hot Rod
Hot Rod(2007)

It was hilarious! There was one point which had my brothers and I in tears! All the 80's inspirational movie type music was just great! But it also had alot of language and crude dialogue in it. Because I can't recommend it to all my friends, I detract a star, but because it was so funny I give it back half.

The Mist
The Mist(2007)

It felt true to the story throughout most of the movie. It was a very good creepy movie. But the end was very depressing. It had a huge emotional effect on me. The wrong kind. I would've loved to have rated it 5 stars, and it started out as one of the best Stephen King adaptions I have seen as of yet, but the ending was just horrible.

A very good movie to watch. It had great car chases, fun gunplay and top notch acting!

The Princess Bride

A movie that never gets old! Truly a classic. It's absolutely hilarious, and great for quoting!

Mr. Canton and Lady Rose (Ji ji) (Miracles) (Black Dragon)

Another great Jackie Chan classic! It is funny, well written, directed, and acted and has amazing action! It also has one of Chan's greatest fight scenes - the rope factory fight scene. A movie I never tire of watching!

Surf's Up
Surf's Up(2007)

It had it's good moments, but it had it's bad moments too.

Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

It had it's funny moments, and it had it's really funny moments! It was really entertaining, for a black and white film.

Jackie Chan: The Myth

Well, in three words it was.... AMAZING, AWESOME, and SUPER COOL!!!

It had a little more sensuality, innuendo, and implied nudity than I would've liked... and the violence was ALMOST too intense for a PG-13. So I wouldn't recommend it to all my friends, but it was still a really awesome action movie and classic Jackie Chan fanfare.

3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma(2007)

It was a great movie! Good acting, good action, and good character development make this the best western I've ever seen! Granted I haven't seen too many westerns, but still, I doubt that any could be as action packed and fast paced as this one. I still want to watch the original, but I'd be willing to bet this is one of those rare remakes that are better than the original.

I detract half a star for the nudity! Shame on you hollywood! Ruining a perfectly good western with your usual trash! For told is for warned, I read a review of the movie and left the theater with my buddies to get refills when the nudity was approaching. If you wish to do the same, it is when Ben seduces the waitress, cut scene, when the scene cuts again they are upstairs and he is drawing her nude in his sketch book, so as soon as the scene cuts, you can leave and it is about a 3 to 4 minute wait till it's over.

A very decent thriller, but I wanted more. It wasn't as scary, suspenseful, or psychological as I expected it to be. It was entertaining and worth a watch, but by no means a must see. But the spying on his neighbor girl and the camera's body ogling detracts a star from it.

It was not as funny as I expected it to be. The moments it did have were hilarious, but I wanted more out of it. I got really irked by how many times the S word was used! It is so uncalled for and really annoying!

Hot Fuzz
Hot Fuzz(2007)

This movie was hilarious! Not only one of the best comedies of 07, but pretty much one of the best action movies of 07 too! This movie doesn't just spoof action movies, like Scary Movie for horror, but it pays homage to them as well. Brilliantly executed foot chases, car chases, shoot outs and explosions! Plus it's so freaking funny!

*note: it's also uber violent and kind've gory, which dissapoints me as it will turn off some people who would love this movie*

The Alamo
The Alamo(2004)

It was a decent movie. Kind've slow, and not really my genre, but well acted and a beautiful score! I do have to say however, that Billy B Thornton as Davey Crocket is one of the weirdest casting choices I have ever seen.

Open Range
Open Range(2003)

It wasn't your average popcorn film or action packed blockbuster, but it was a very good movie. I'm not a big fan of westerns, but I enjoyed this one well enough.

Ordinary Decent Criminal

I thought it was a fun and entertaining film. But 1: I don't usually go for the types of movies that glorify criminals and or sin, 2: the language was a constant through out and a big nuisance, and 3: there's full frontal male nudity in this film!!!!!!!!! Isn't this supposed to only be rated R???

The Bourne Ultimatum

A super fast paced action movie! It blows the first two out of the water! Furious chase followed by a little discussion and plot followed by furious chase! It was an amazing movie, and a great conclussion to the series!

Eight Legged Freaks

It was alot better than I expected. Sometimes funny, sometimes suspenseful, sometimes absolutely cheesy (like with the spider noises) but pretty much a really fun movie.

Rush Hour 3
Rush Hour 3(2007)

Pretty much as awesome as the first two, but alot worse content.

A really slow, very pointless movie with an unsatisfying ending. From what I gather this is supposed to be their after life or something. It was so slow, so pointless, and ultimately so unsatisfying plus a sex scene/nudity. You don't need to waste your time.

I will be haunted forever.

Smokin' Aces
Smokin' Aces(2007)

I expected so much more out of this film! I mean I expected all the language and violence, but I was willing to put it past the film and hope for a nonstop action extravaganza. But it was really boring! A whole hour and 15 minutes into the movie before they started the showdown. Until then it was just backround on sick, twisted, degenerate hit men, con artists, and mafia. I found it really hard to follow the storyline and keep the characters separate too. This 'twist' I had heard so much about and gotten really excited for was way too obvious. And so, with all the language, violence, sexual material, nudity, and all around offensive thematic material, this movie is really not worth it.

Go watch Live Free Or Die Hard!

Contrary to early misplaced expectations of it, this is NOT a kids movie. It has alot of thematic, mature, violent, and sexual content for which I am very displeased with it!

But other than that... it was such an awesome action movie!!!! Amazing special effects! "This is better than Armageddon!" Plus I'm biased for Shia Lebeouf because I'ma huge Even Stevens fan.

It was a good movie, but it wasn't really funny.

It was better than Cars. A really good family film, which had it's really funny moments. I was amazed at how much detail was put into this movie! How realistic it was. Pretty much what I've come to expect from Pixar!

The Ant Bully

I didn't even see the whole thing. I try not to rate a movie if I didn't sit through it opening titles through closing credits. But what I saw from this one, it was mindblowingly crude! They call this a kids movie?!

Live Free or Die Hard

I can't even begin to describe how incredibly action packed, and funny this movie is!! It was pretty clean besides all the swearing. And totally action packed! It is by far my favorite Die Hard movie!

Bridge to Terabithia

It was a really nice movie. I kept wincing at all the corny, cheesy, and cliche'd parts, but it was really sweet and sad. Although I didn't like all the mature themes in it, this being a kids movie.

I started to cry at the end. Not when she died, that was sad but still.... it was when the boy decided to share his secret kingdom with his little sister, it was such a sweet moment. And Bailee Madison is so cute!

Cinderella III: A Twist in Time

Not one of the worst stupid Disney sequels. It was actually ok. But still pretty dumb.

Stir of Echoes

While it had some suspenseful parts, it did not hold my attention the whole way through. It had too much sex and nudity. Kevin Bacon just irked me and he was irrationally irrational. I don't recommend this movie.

Hide and Seek

Practically a rip off of another great movie, which I will not name to keep the ending secret for people that have seen the other movie. But on it's own terms it is a very good shocking thriller.

Will keep you guessing to the end! (unless you know the psychological thriller movie rules) Surprisingly violent, not for the weak of stomach.

Die Hard 2
Die Hard 2(1990)

Pretty much as awesome as the first!!! Explosive action, awesome story, great cast.... Yippee-Ki-Yay!!!

Die Hard
Die Hard(1988)

One of the best 80's action movies! Despite all it's profanities, a really good classic action movie.

An intensely suspenseful action packed movie! It was great fun and really sad!

Flushed Away
Flushed Away(2006)

The best animated film I've seen in a long while! Hilarious!

A very good movie! It's not all that gory either, along the lines of Seven, but still by no means for the faint of heart.

An excellent twist which is spoiled by the fact that there are three Saw movies already. An awesome ending you have to see to believe!!

Captivating! Incredibly well done. One of those movies that leave you pinned to your seat till the end of the credits, and then you want to watch it again!

Happily N'ever After

Funnier than Shrek The Third!

Siu nin a Fu (The Kumite) (Star Runner)

The action was great... when there was some. It was such a drama it wasn't even funny. I expected alot more action! But the action it did have was pretty good. They just focused too much on the love story.

Déjà Vu
Déjà Vu(2006)

It was rather predictable. But an excellent movie! very intense visuals and a great story.

The Good Shepherd

It was really long, but really good.

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

An amazing film! Although not as funny as the second, it is the best Spider Man movie yet! The special effects are just amazing, especially with Sandman.

I Heart Huckabees

Really confusing, but really funny.

John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars

A good solid blow 'em up action movie! I especially liked the scene where they traveled from the tracks to the bunker through the hords of possesed zombies.

It was really violent, but didn't cross the line too far like most movies nowadays.

28 Days Later

A very stylish movie. Very dark and sad but somehow beautiful movie with a happy ending.

It's only rated R, but it has full frontal nudity!!! >:(

Final Destination 3

It was entertaining, but the bad far outweighs the good. I do not recommend!

Exciting, believable, entertaining. A very decent thriller! Very clean, with little cursing, and acceptable amount of violence!

Batman Begins

Hands down the best Batman movie out there! This is the way Batman was supposed to be! Christian Bale is perfect for the role! Christopher Nolan directed perfectly!

The Protector (Tom yum goong) (Warrior King)

Insane martial arts action! It is very violent though.

Snakes on a Plane

There are moments, well one anyway, that will haunt me forever. (man am I glad I didn't have any popcorn during this movie!)

District B13 (Banlieue 13)

Awesome movie! This is how an action movie is supposed to be made! Lots of jaw dropping, adrenaline rushing, death defying, REAL, martial arts stunts, without sexual content, and minimal language!

The Machinist

A great movie that keeps you wondering what's going on untill it's amazing conclusion!

Escape from New York

A very basic action movie. Made in the early 80s, it doesn't have alot of amazing special effects, but neither is it loaded with tons of language, carnage, or sex.

Over the Hedge

Really funny! Alot of crude humor though.

The Ring
The Ring(2002)

A eerie suspenseful movie with an incredible score! This supernatural thriller/mystery delivers the goods all the way till the haunting ending!

Fight Club
Fight Club(1999)

Shockingly vile and profane, brutally hilarious, and incredibly mind blowing (literally)!

Incredibly mind blowing! Hard to get your mind around but when you do it is amazing!

The I Inside
The I Inside(2005)

A great movie that thinks outside the box!

Secret Window

An improvement on the Stephen King short story. If you haven't read the story, see this movie first! It's unbelievabley twisted!

The Sixth Sense

A classic scarey movie with one of the most amazing endings ever written!

Absolutely incredible! Very shocking and haunting ending!

A unique movie that plays backwords! If that's not enough to make it worth your time, the ending (or should I say beginning) will leave you breathless!

The Others
The Others(2001)

Incredibly suspenseful with a wicked twist of an ending!

Will blow your mind with it's shocking ending!

Suspenseful SciFi movie with a mind blowing twist at the end!

The Game
The Game(1997)

Filled with numerous twists and turns with a shocking ending!

The Lake House

It would be a four star movie, but I just couldn't get past that one time paradox at the end. I was aware of the fact that you have to let logic go to make the idea of sending letters to people two years apart seem possible, but that one paradox was just to big for me. But it was a good movie anyhow.

Tremors 4 - The Legend Begins

A fun look at the first graboid attack!

A classic. Very fun.

Tremors 2: Aftershocks

Even better than the first!

Tremors 3 - Back to Perfection

Maybe the best Tremors yet!

It's fun to watch the evolution of the graboids!

It wasn't good solely as a thriller, and it wasn't good as only a chick flick, but it had a good mix of the two.

It was a good movie. All the reviews I've read trash it, but it's really not that bad.

I thought it was a bloody mess! The violence was excessively explicit, and the sex/nudity was so much I thought I was watching a porno! Although I agree that the bloodiness was for the most part probably realistic, it is war after all, I just don't think we need to be putting all that crap in our minds and desensitizing ourselves. I do admit to enjoying myself despite the blood, and when no nudity was onscreen, but the bad in this movie far outways the good!

I read the book by Robin Cook and it took almost forever becasue it was so boring, although it picked up at the end. The same cannot be said about the movie, which I only watched cause it was directed by Michael Crichton.

The Avengers
The Avengers(1998)

It's a great movie if you just want an average popcorn flick to pass the evening. It does the trick of entertaining.

Hot Shots!
Hot Shots!(1991)

It had some pretty funny parts, and as to be expected, some lame parts. But at least it was short, and it wasn't gratuitous. The credits were pretty stinkin' good too.

Suspect Zero
Suspect Zero(2004)

It was a very entertaining and suspenseful story. It didn't have a shocking twist at the end but it was well worth watching!

Not even close to as awesome as the book was!

It was really funny without being retarded!

The Interpreter

It was ok. Not a fast pased thriller but it was entertaining.

World Trade Center

A very good movie! Guarantied to make you cry.

Kiss of the Dragon

Lots of awesome martial arts action but very gruesomely violent.

Primal Fear
Primal Fear(1996)

It wasn't a very good twist really. But then again there's not much you can do with legal thrillers. In the end he's either guilty or not guilty. Just Cause was much better because it didn't have all the nudity and sexual content.

Lady in the Water

Another Shyamalan classic!

The Ring Two
The Ring Two(2005)

Not nearly as good as the first! Creepy in the beginning, which dissipates halway through. And the deer part was just ridiculous!

An really insane, absolutely irreverent, and completely retarded, offkey, wack comedy. It is SO stupid that it often becomes funny. Plus it includes many working spoofs, (Run, Florist, run!) witty banter, and clever dialogue (He offered him a maid he couldn't refuse.).

In conclusion, a very retarded funny movie you shouldn't watch unless you enjoy movies like Dumb and Dumber, and Monty Python.

A very predictable and cliche'd thriller.

Men in Black II

Even funnier than the first!

Although having previously viewed the original is necessary to benefit from half the jokes.

The Birds
The Birds(1963)

I don't know, it was rather kind of boring.

The Blair Witch Project

Kind of a stupid movie. Very dull until the parts where it gets "scary".

But the ending is worth it! (Even though I had to have it explained to me)

One Hour Photo

Very, very dissapointing. Too much bad content, without even a satisfying ending.

It's not rated for nudity, but be forwarned, there is! :(

The Shaggy Dog

Not nearly as good as the original. A movie I could've skipped.

Not even really funny. Even RV coerced more laughs out of me!

The Shaggy Dog

So much better than the new one with Tim Allen. A must see classic!

Monster House

Kinda icky for a kids movie, with adult content and only occasional humor.

What Lies Beneath

This was a very suspenseful movie even though I guessed the psycological twist at the end.

National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1

Nonstop laughs! Many many spoofs.

The Marine
The Marine(2006)

A good solid blow 'em up film without story. Yer basic popcorn flick.

The Adventures of Scamper

This is a childhood classic! I rate it high because of memories it brings, but I imagine I wouldn't enjoy it so much nowadays. I really want to get it on DVD anyhow.

The Faculty
The Faculty(1998)

I saw it a long time ago. My rating my not be accurate.

Open Season
Open Season(2006)

A funny movie. Definately not top of the line (and not worth the heavy load of dough I dropped on a ticket) but it's entertaining and good for a laugh.

The Grudge 2
The Grudge 2(2006)

The first one was better. (doi) This one didn't end the right way IMO.

Scary Movie 3

Pretty stinkin bad for a PG-13.

The Producers

Insanely funny. Incredibly perverse.
