Hard to get into, interesting.
Sexy, well-done film. Luv Abril.
Beautiful sets, very atmospheric, but not much of a story. Truthfully, I only watched it because it was directed by OAssayas/IRMA VEP. Luv IH always.
A horror destined for "Elvira's Movie Macabre." Just awful. At Hulu.
Depressing, minimal dialogue with unlikeable leads.
Not one of Vinnies best: 3 moralistic tales. With Beverly Garland & Sebastian Cabot.
Suspenseful, spooky & a bit silly.
I watched this film because I thought it might be the same house thats in AMERICAN HORROR STORY, SEASON 1. It's not.
"God loves everyone, including slags." lol.
Alan Partridge on the big screen. A little long, bit tedious in parts, but funny in others. His assistant, Lynn, was probably funnier than Alan tho. Hope they work out the kinks and make a sequel. Love Steve Coogan always.
Suspenseful, but my bf & I thought the ending was disappointing. I especially wanted a few dead bodies upstairs lol. NOT a comedy.
Another psycho tooth fairy flick with just a couple of good horror scenes. It was also very hard to believe that the lead was a mother. Loved the faded/sepia toned shots tho.
I was so looking forward to another KUNG FU HUSTLE but alas, this film was disappointing. Not being Chinese, I'm not familiar with the classic tale The Journey to the West so most of the story didn't make a lot of sense. It got a bit Terry Gilliam during the Monkey King fight & had some funny moments tho.
Zhang Wen was too cute & the Monkey King/Bo Huang had some major swag lol. Will there be a sequel?
A NEW Hammer. Plays like an old Hammer film, but should only have run an hour. Story was a bit muddled, the scenes a bit too dark to see anything & they ran through the gruesome bits a little too fast, but loved the ending. And Timothy Spall was properly creepy. I'm looking forward to seeing future new Hammers.
Simple story, but well-filmed & well-acted. Better then I thought it would be. This is NOT a horror, its a thriller.
CAUTION: some graphic torture scenes.
"When a decomposing girlfriend is better than no girlfriend at all."--IMDB.
A surprisingly suspenseful & well-done film. It comes off 70's-ish & slightly funny, but has some genuinely horrifying moments. Can't say its really a horror/zombie film either even with a reanimated corpse as one of the lead characters lol. Great acting by Cody DeVos, one of the twins & writer, held the film together (kinda reminded me of a young Oliver Reed.) Soundtrack wasn't so bad either (& yes, I heard the music this time, Pamela dear.)
Wow, surprisingly great film. Not at all what I expected from the review descriptions. Beautifully filmed, amazing acting. Quiet, slow & suspenseful. Yes, theres lots of full frontal nudity & graphic gay sex, but it wasn't offensive. It was filmed so well you could almost feel the warm summer breeze. I look forward to more films directed by Alain Guiraudie.
CAUTION: Lotsa uncircumcised penises, graphic gay sex & brief wanking lol.
The lead (Deladonchamps) was so handsome & sweet, but why o why did he go with the guy he saw drown someone? To desire someone you don't know is one thing but to overlook a murder... c'mon, that character, even in blind love, wouldn't be so stupid. I so wanted him to end up with Henri, it almost made me cry.
Even Joan Plowright couldnt save this stinker. Natasha Richardson was awful. BUT I also made the most AMAZING discovery: Mia Farrow & Gwyneth Paltrow look alike! Yes, they really do, watch this film & get a good look at Mia. I never noticed the resemblance before, its in the cheekbones & eyes. Maybe because they are both Jewish??
Is there anything more terrifying then being cast adrift in space?? Yes, listening to Sandra Bullock & George Clooney banter for 1.5 hrs on a movie screen.
Maybe it would have been better in 3-D as I watched it on a tv screen, but just what did you reviewers see in this movie that I didnt? I've seen many scifi/space movies/tv shows & this was so unimpressive.
"Nothing adds up. No. You've got it backwards. Everything adds up to nothing, that's the point. What's the point? Exactly. What's the point of anything?"--Terry Gilliam's version of Abbott & Costello's Who's On First lol.
Muddled story, great sets, classic Terry Gilliam confusion. Love Christoph Waltz & David Thewlis always. Tilda was wasted in such a minor role & casting Matt Damon was very strange, he just didn't seem to fit in. Absolutely NOT in the ranks of BRAZIL. Thx for burning it for me, Pamela.
Love, cybersex & cheese pizza are the answers to the great question of Life & Everything. I'd of preferred it to be "42" lol.
Best horror Ive seen in years. Well-directed, atmospheric, great script & well-acted. The casting was amazing too. The ending was a bit confusing tho due to it not keeping with the storyline, but the film was very good as a whole.
