This is 40(2012)

I don't know why they made a sequel to Knocked Up, yes the movie was hilarious and it's one of my favorite comedies, but it makes no sense to make a sequel to it. The movie, This is 40 doesn't even star Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, it actually stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. First off, I gotta say Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann were actually pretty good actors in this film, they had good chemistry together and they both supplied decent jokes, but compared to Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl they seem very average. Now, compared to all the co-stars in this movie Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann were the most enjoyable and probably the only people you even gave a crap about. I can tell what Judd Apatow was trying to do with this film, but I don't think it worked out. The drama in this movie didn't seem to work with the comedy, but the comedy worked in the first act of the film, but the last two acts I have no idea what this movie was trying to be, was it trying to be a drama? Was it trying to be a drama/comedy? Was it trying to be a crude comedy? Like, I have no idea what this movie was trying to be. Another thing is the story, the story in this movie seemed very pointless, like I felt this movie wasn't aiming for any sort of a premise, it just wanted to show you a movie about miserable people at the age of 40, that's it. Like, I said some of the comedy was pretty good, mostly because of the two leads and as for the drama that just didn't work at all. I know all the scenes about money problems and family issues are suppose to be relatable, but honestly there not at all relatable. The family issues are a little too over the top in this film, I know were suppose to feel sorry for some of these characters, but you can't feel sorry for them because almost all the characters in this movie are very unlikeable. Another, thing is when they did all the arguing scenes in this movie, it didn't feel very realistic, it just felt more uncomfortable then anything. Also, one other thing is, why do people keep putting Megan Fox in there movies, yes she's very attractive, but she's a terrible actress and her in this movie just shows how terrible she is. So, yeah this movie had a lot of problems, it wasn't even as close as good as Knocked Up, it failed as a drama, it had terrible co-stars and I thought the movie was a little too long. Yes, there was some good comedy and yes the two lead actors were great, but this movie still has too many flaws for me to recommend it.
