JD's Review of Django Unchained
Quentin Tarantino returns once again and gives us another fantasic movie and the movie of course is called Django Unchained. The title alone sounds really intense and really badass and no surprise the movie itself was very intense and really badass. Quentin Tarantino wrote such an incredible script for this film because the script was filled with really compelling and at times funny dialogue. The entire cast in this film was also top notch, like Jaime Foxx played a great lead role as Django, he did a great job with the action scenes and his character was very well developed. I also enjoyed the chemistry he had with Christoph Waltz's character, I thought they were both great as bounty hunters and them together worked really well. The special cameos by Jonah Hill and Kurt Russell were also done very well, they were both very brief in the film, but holy crap were they both hilarious. Okay, now for the two actors that pretty much dominated the whole movie and if you don't know who I'm talking about, I'm of course talking about Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson, both of whom played the bad guys in this movie. Its funny when you watch this movie you have to really think of which of these two guys played the most evilest character in the movie because believe me both of there characters are just evil and honestly that's what made them work. Samuel L. Jackson was great in the film, he supplied some good laughs and some really good acting, but of course we all should know who the best actor was in this film and that of course was Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes, I do wish he was more in the movie, but even still he was really good in this movie. His character had the most drive then any other character in the movie and plus he brings such a dark tone to the movie when he comes into place, which was pretty interesting. Leonardo DiCaprio is probably going to get an Academy Award nomination and I'm actually hoping he wins it becuase yeah, he was that good. Another good thing that was in this movie was the music, I thought the music matched everything that was going on in the film and I thought it set the tones just right. The editing was also really well done, it went through scene through scene just right and the pacing was also perfect, yes the movie is almost three hours long, but it actually doesn't feel like it becuase the pacing and the editing was done so well. I don't know what else to say about this movie other then go see it. If your a Quentin Tarantino fan then you will love this movie, is this the best Tarantino movie out there? I wouldn't say that because Pulp Fiction is a classic and in my opinion his very best film, but I would actually say Django Unchained is probably Tarantino's third best movie, next to Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds, so yeah that's really saying something. So, please go see this movie, it's a hell of a good time and I guarentee most people will have a blast with this film, even if you hate Westerns you will probably still love this movie, personally I love Westerns and that's what actually made me love this movie more, but whatever go see this film it's really good.
