JD's Review of Hitchcock
I've been looking forward to seeing this movie and now that I finally saw it I can now say that this movie is............ okay, I guess! Yeah, like most people I thought this film looked really cool because come on it's about Alfred Hitchcock, who's hands down one of my favorite movie directors of all time. The movie is also about Alfred Hitchcock making the movie Psycho, which of course is one of my favorite movies, so yeah, I should have loved this movie right? Of course I should have, but I didn't! Now, that being said that doesn't mean I thought this movie was terrible or anything because believe me it's not, it's just not as good as I wanted it to be. Yes, Anthony Hopkins plays the role of Alfred Hitchcock pretty well and Helen Mirren plays the role of his wife Alma even better, but I thought there chemistry with each other should have been a bit stronger, so as there characters they did a good job, but as a couple I didn't really believe there romance in this movie. Now, as for the co-stars I thought they all did an okay job, I guess, but the one person who actually surprised me was Scarlett Johansson who plays Janet Leigh. Scarlett Johansson, played that role pretty darn well and she really looked the part as well. As for the story, the story is pretty simple, which was fine I guess, but I felt like they should have put more in it, I guess. The movie itself is pretty entertaining, like if your a fan of Alfred Hitchcock you will have fun with it and I did have fun with it, but like I said I expeced so much more.
