Starts out with some cringe worthy jokes, and the pacing is a bit rushed, but what unfolds is a funny and gory zombie movie. Teacher Ms Carolyn evolves to be not just the hero, but wonderfully rich heroine. And all the singing is tons of fun.
This is Downton Abbey at its best, the Crowley family and their servants supporting each other to keep the grand family home thriving into the next generation. Come for the lovely costumes, decorations, and music, and stay for the nuanced, complicated characters and their rich relationships they share.
This is a brilliant coming of age story. It’s honesty is refreshing, and in the ends comes across as heartfelt.
This film sticks a delicate balance of the real life visceral violence of a terrorist mass shooting while fleshing out the heartbreaking humanity of its characters. It’s a true technical and emotional achievement.
