A martial arts comedy with the action of a Yhang Zimou flick about an overweight panda with a good sense of humor and self esteem issues, Kung Fu Panda, the first film I saw in a theatre is a film I very much admire and I'm happy to report holds up pretty well.Dreamworks strikes a great balance between the visuals that they excel at and the story and humor that they don't always. The martial arts choreography feels about as authentic as a film with Kung fu trained anthropomorphic animals can, with enough fantastical elements and slapstick at play to keep audiences entertained. Bonus points for nostalgia and that jam with Jack Black and Ceelo Green plus that somber and exciting score by Hans Zimmer that infuses the film with an eastern sensibility beyond the action scenes. SKADOOSH!
So much fun. Peak Kevin Bacon with a banger soundtrack and some righteous dancing. Kenny Loggins is a certified genius.
Why do we need a remake of The Sword In the Stone when we have this underrated 2010 fantasy flick?
Saw this on a whim at my local mall and was deeply entertained. The screenplay is garbage and the characters are so bland. The Mayan temple was well designed and there are plenty of solid scares. I think it's interesting that both Jaimie Foxx and Sly Stallone's daughters are in this film. Like we're they only looking for celebrity's daughters for the cast or what? Also why does John Corbett play the dad in everything? Shouldn't work as well as it does, but I had a lot of fun. An enjoyable way to spend 80 minutes.
Really good. Lives and breathes comic book energy. Sam Raimi's passion for Spider-Man is why the film really works. Toby Macguire embodies a lot of who Peter Parker is and what he represents really well. Willem Dafoe is insane and manic, but captivating in his craziness. Kristen Dunst is beautiful and is a pretty good MJ. Really impressed with design of Green Goblin, glider and Spider-Man. Special Effects impressive for the time, don't quite hold up now and certain elements of this film feel very 2000's Really liked this movie, strong origin story, well told, exciting and honestly kind of groundbreaking in the grand scheme of the MCU and DCEU. Excited to continue watching the trilogy.
