Movie Ratings and Reviews

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

Pretty good, though at times it seemed to push for too much to be inckuded in the film. Worth seeing if you like Spidey, the other films, etc., but it could not stand alone. The first 2 Spider-Man movies were a bit better and helped to prop this one up. Still, not bad all in all. Worth seeing on the theatre instead of waiting for it to come out on DVD,

Freedom Writers

At first, I thought this was another Hollywood feel good story. I was partly right, but it's based on a true story and is quite amazing! Anyone in education or thinking about going into education must see this!

Hannibal Rising

Very fast paced for a film that's almost 2 hours long. Fans of Hannibal Lecter will very much enjoy it! For the most part, it stays pretty close to the book.

Bridge to Terabithia

I really enjoyed this movie. While it was a bit modernized, since the book was set in or around the 70s, it did not take anything away from the story. Like the book, I enjoyed it and hated it it (in parts) at the same time. Some may think it's something of a "kids movie" but the theme strikes true with emotion in probably many of us.

Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider(2007)

This movie was better than I expected it to be. While I like Cage in some movies, I wasn't expecting him to be too good in this one. While he sometimes came across a bit like an idiot daredevil Elvis, overall, I fell he did a good job. I did care too much for the occassional one-liners, but since there were only a few, it was acceptable and a fun movie to watch.

This Is Spinal Tap

The best mockumentary/rockumentary ever made.

A true classic!

The Hobbit
The Hobbit(1978)

Probably the first animated feature based on Tolkein's work. A good introdution for those new to tales of Middle Earth.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

The film is based on the true story of Anneliese Michel, a young Catholic woman from Germany who died in 1976 after unsuccessful attempts to cure her from the alleged state of demonic possession with the means of psychotropic drugs. Also, church-approved exorcism was performed on her, according to her wish. Worth checking out by all horror fans.

The Omen
The Omen(2006)

With a few select scenes and updated effects, this is basically the same script from the origianl film.

Though a bit claustrophobic at times, this is still a fantasy classic to see!

The Lost Boys

One of my all time favorite vampire films.

The Crow
The Crow(1994)

One of my all time favorites! A good rendition of the graphic novel, though a sad ending for Brandon Lee. I think his death made this film all the more dark and ambient.

SLC Punk
SLC Punk(1998)

Great indie film! If you love a bit of comedy and good punk rock soundtrack, then this is worth checking out.

Pump Up the Volume

Great movie with an incredible storyline and awesome soundtrack!

One of my all time favorite dark comedies!

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

One of the best Star Trek films ever!

Bram Stoker's Dracula

A great rendition of a classic tale!

Man on the Moon

One of the best Jim Carrey movies by far! (not that he's has that many good ones to begin with).

The Mask
The Mask(1994)

One of the few Jim Carrey movies I can stand.

The Incredibles

Comic book fans will love this...just as I did!

Pretty Woman
Pretty Woman(1990)

It has it's moments.

I enjoyed this, even if it did star Mel Gibson.

The Ring
The Ring(2002)

Not bad, but the original Japanese version was way better.

The Matrix
The Matrix(1999)

Interesting the philosophical/zen-like take on reality.

Saw II
Saw II(2005)

Nowhere near as good as the fist one.

Bruce Almighty

Not bad for a Jim Carrey film.

There's Something About Mary

Good for a laugh, just let someone spend the cash to rent it.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Jimmy Carrey at his worst..well, one of his worst anyways.

Good back in the day.

Good to watch now and then

King Kong
King Kong(2005)

Not bad, but I expected more.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Of all the prequels, this is the best of the 3.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Not as good as the book, but still a great flick!
