I quite liked it. It was better than the first and relatively funny. Steve Martin is the only funny actor in it though.
The Hunger Games is not a disappointment to the readers who have been waiting so long for it. At the same time it feels as it's a wasted opportunity of the great novel that it reflects.
On the bright side, Jennifer Lawrence was spectacular. She played the best Katniss possible, it was perfectly cast. Stanley Tucci and Woody Harrelson also did their characters perfect. I thought overall the script and pacing to the film were also very good.
However, as a fan of the book you feel a little disappointed in all of the things that the film outright ignored. They did not even touch on the feelings of Katniss, when it is the main conflict of the book. They cut out so many characters. It really was a simplified hollywood version of a really risque novel, and I almost would have liked something a little more 'edigier'
That said The Hunger Games is still a really good film with superb acting. It just might not blow away fans of the book.
Best film of the year. Superb acting from Rogen, JGL, and Kendrick. Best script since the Social Network. Funny when it has to be, sad when it has to be, you will love this movie.
One of the funniest movies of the year, this is even better than the previous 2 films.
