13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi

This really could have been a good movie. Instead it is a mess. The acting is pretty good, but the cinematography is unforgivable, with action shots being shot with a still camera, and scenes with people sitting and talking being shot in shaky cam. Michael Bay doesn't belong anywhere near a serious script.

Yes. It's one of those many Adam Sandler movies in which he's just making a quick buck off his mindless fanbase.

A decent movie, despite me originally thinking it was 'too boring' as a teenager.

I should have known this wouldn't have been a great movie, not only because of my friends saying it was stupid, but also because of the crappy preview they showed on Conan. It was that stupid scene where they fight a dragon with a chopper gunner.

Well, aside from that, the movie sets up what seems to be a deep and interesting plot, but at around maybe the ten minute mark the movie loses all of that, and any sort of thing which could have made it any bit interesting, and the rest is desperate as they pull off every cliche action fight in the book, and do it wrong. A lot of the actual plot scenes are downright boring. It's like a guy movie and a chick-flick mashed into one. It just doesn't work well.

Anyways, the protagonist's alcoholic father presumably murders her mother and gets custody of her children; her and her little sister. He sexually assaults the protagonist, and proceeds to go abuse her little sister, but she comes back with a gun, but misses and shoots her sister, killing her. She doesn't have the heart to actually shoot him, however. He frames her for murdering her sister, and she is sent to a mental institute where she gets a lobotomy, so she can't report him.

SPOILER ALERT: The rest of the movie is crap. You could probably make up a much more satisfying plot in your head.

She does bad ass stuff in a dream. Her dream is shattered. She is lobotomized. That's the sucker punch. The end.

The Hateful Eight

There's a much different pacing to this one compared to most Tarentino films, being much smaller scale, though still containing most of the tropes that make it a Tarentino film. I absolutely loved the first two hours of the film in particular, as it felt more clever and mature than previous Tarentino films, and was expecting the whole movie to be as fresh, but then it turns into the "fun bloodbath" movie everyone expected. This worked, but it just wasn't the most fitting thing to turn the movie into. What it does best is being tense, and keeping you guessing, and this is what the first two hours offers. The characters in particular aware awesome in the sense that none of them are really likeable, but the movie makes you end up liking certain ones or at least sympathizing with them before switching it over throughout by giving new developments at precise times that change how one will perceive the characters..
