I feared it and it came true. This remake has nothing of what the del Toro's had. Perlman was better, Selma Blair was better, and the heart existed. This is just an excuse to rip anyone apart and see as much blood splattered on the screen. Stick to the originals or the graphic novels because this is a true horror to watch.
Tarintino is good to have you back. Though I have enjoyed his past few films they were starting to feel not his. This is a blast to the past. More a "storytelling" film that anything else, once upon is not a typical film. Its almost like watching a real day in the life (aka reservoir dogs) and has many stories all lead into one. Pitt and DiCaprio and stellar with some absolute scene steals and the ending is absolute bonkers. If you like Quentin, you have to see this. If your not, I suggest you move on.
It still has the Pixar magic and feels like an original. But this next chapter clearly wants you to think of a new and different toy story than what we grew up with which is hard to swallow on the first go. If you compare to any of the past three you will be disappointed so go in with a clear head.
A great start for the next phase, spiderman continues its light heart and easy going themes. What it's setting up I'm not sure yet but I have a feeling. Also Jake as Mysterio was a great addition and exactly from the comic.
When you talk about epics this will forever been the lead until the next one comes. The culmination of over 10 years of movies, 100's of top notch actors, and too many heroes and villians to name, endgame is exactly what it is called. The plot cleans up everything you wanted. The acting is draw dropping across the board. The heart and touching moments are almost too much to bare (I still cry). And it's the swan songs of all swan songs for Evans and especially Downey. Easily my top comic movie and will be hard to beat for a long time.
