Whit's Review of The Reaping
This is one of those movies that had a really intersting premise and waited for the last 15 minutes to do anything with it. Hilary Swank plays an ordained minister who has lost her faith after a family tragedy and spends her days debunking miracles. One town comes looking for her help when they start experiencing the biblical plagues. After this the movie spends an hour building up to the finale, but the build up loses steam fast and almost loses the viewers interest before it gets good again. An intersting premise, an exciting last act, and a haunting performance by Annasophia Robb make this worth a watch, but you may want to bring a magazine for the middle.
