DOA: Dead or Alive
10 years ago via Flixster

No one actually sees a movie like DOA for a deep, complex plot, or well developed characters. It's all about the crazy fight scenes and, more importantly, the hot girls taking part in crazy fight scenes. To that extent - DOA is right on the money.

Cruel Intentions 2
10 years ago via Flixster
½

Yeah. It's bad. REAL bad. But, in all fairness, it was never meant to be a movie. Originally, it was two episodes for a pilot based on the original film, then (when the series was rejected), the episodes were piled together, given a twist ending, then released as Cruel Intentions 2. The characters are exactly the same - Kathryn already rules the school, and Sebastian falls for the principal's daughter (Again...). There is no room for character progression, and no real interesting sub text as to exactly why these characters are as cold and brittle as they appear in the first version.

Hard Candy

It's intelligent. It's manipulative. It isn't gory at all, and definetely isn't horror, but nevertheless it MIGHT make you cringe (I'd say only for the very squeamish). But it's very much worth it.
