Angela's Ashes

Marvellously documented movie, Tells of the early childhood of one Frank McCourt whom against the backdrop of famine, disease and conflict triumphs and realises his dream of going to America come true. It is often the courage in the face of hopelessness coupled with lightheartedness which makes this a much more compelling draw. Very moving indeed!

I loved this movie. it was dark and very funny in parts. The morality of taking a life and paying for it with ones' own life has never felt so poignant. Great script too!

Life Is Beautiful (La Vita bella)

Endearing movie which bowls u over. It is a touching, heartwarming farce which sees a colourful Italian Jew unwilling to succumb to the far rights influence on personal freedoms and expression. Roberto Benigni's character is totally full of life and charming to say the least, Beautiful movie.

½

Marvellous movie, dark and pulsating. it invites u into a world of Paranoi and insanity. Marlon Brando is scintillating per usual, turning his psychotic character into a pitiful and affectionate hero.

Brilliant Movie, Not enough words to describe the cinematic experience and individual performance of Robert De Niro in this movie. It is exhilarating, immense and brilliantly scripted.
