3 Strikes
3 Strikes(2000)

God awful braindead piece of garbage that i wish i could give zero stars.

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky

Kick-ass manga based Hong Kong Sci-fi comedy action fantasy mix is the right mix of all genres presented with great gore and dark humor thrown.

Cannibal Holocaust

A true genre masterpiece that began the lost footage genre since 1980 as it still shocks and assaults the senses. The animal killing for real was not needed and was disgusting as hell despite i'm no animal rights person or vegetarian, the animal cruelty free version is awesome. This film inspired Blair Witch and many more.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Excellent prequel to the series and has a unique performance on Caesar the chimp by Andy Serkis and one of his best performances of his career, this one like Avatar is done by WETA and has captured Mocap without the dead eye effect

Conan the Barbarian

A fantasy adventure masterpiece! Arnold was terrific as Conan and James Earl Jones was creepy but cool as Thulsa Doom. Brutal, perverse and unique epic that is one of the best fantasy movies ever.

An outstanding fantasy epic! one of Marvel's best movies besides X-Men 1 & 2, Spider-Man 1 & 2, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Blade 1 & 2 and Punisher 1 & 2. Great acting, good storyline and brilliant direction from the director of Stardust. It has that retro fantasy feel of the 80's sword and sorcery kind of fantasy.

A pure work of art! Dario Argento's second best after Deep Red and this with that movie established him to be one of cinema's best horror maestros. A modern fairy tales that mixes horror and fantasy plus gory sequences and a haunting score makes this one of my faves since i rented it at age 13.

Def by Temptation

What a brilliant and underrated vampire movie! this one has a succubus/vampire creature is in New York as she seeks men in bars, has sex with them and kills them even drains their blood, a out of town college student goes into the city to seek advice from an actor friend as they have a good time in the city to find that woman who wants him.

Good production values, gory violence with sex and good acting which is suprisingly good for a Troma movie and well done as it's a throwback to blaxploitation, highly recommended movie and it's got a good old school R&B soundtrack. Samuel L. Jackson stars as well.

Let Me In
Let Me In(2010)

Surprisingly good but unnecessary remake/re-adaptation of a great 2008 Swedish movie, very well acted and done as it respects the original and better than that horrible Psycho remake.

Princess Mononoke

An amazing masterpiece of animation! totally the best movie of 1997 and a geniune modern classic, if you loved Cameron's Avatar then watch this work of adult animation.

The Polar Express

Nice attempt at trying to do motion capture even if the story is solid. The graphics look good by waxy and the eyes look dead but Tom Hanks did good voice acting.

Monster House was better.

Troll 2
Troll 2(1990)

Quite bad but painfully amusing too with memorable quotes.

The Fearless Vampire Killers

One of the funniest, original and freshest horror comedies ever! before Scream or Scary Movie this horror spoof knows how to tickle the funny bone.

Bakjwi (Thirst)

Awesome Korean vampire tale! this one will blow your mind for it's a brilliant, funny and dramatic horror thriller about a different kind of vampire and a good adult story too.

Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror (Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens) (Nosferatu the Vampire)

Still the king of vampire movies and the first one! a true cinematic masterpiece that is silent and brilliant as it's a timeless and influential tale that captured every horror fan's imagination and influenced many movies.

Battlefield Earth

The second worst movie i've ever seen next to Leonard part 6.

An outstanding Sci-fi/fantasy/action/adventure drama epic from James Cameron that took 5 years in the making and was written in 1994 when Cameron had to wait years for the technology of CGI to evolve and he got his chance 5 years ago.

Some people say it's not very original but so what, neither was Star Wars or The Matrix and they worked. I saw this movie 12 times in theaters in both 3D and 2D formats as Cameron who is one of my filmmaking heroes rocked of making a unique and stirring eco-saving space epic in the tradition of Frank Hebert's brilliant Dune novels. One of my new favorite movies ever!

Appallling and grotesque mess of a movie! David Lynch was the worst man to direct this project whe nit should have been Alejandro Jodoronsky or Ridley Scott. Lynch doesn't know jackshit about the book for this piece of junk is his worst movie.

He totally raped the novel and added his own stuff and grossness plus major confusion, wooden acting, bad special effects and it's just one big 47 million dollar turkey.

Nausicań of the Valley of the Wind (Kaze no tani no Naushika)

A brilliant, magical and unique Sci-fi/fantasy animated epic from Hayao Miyzaki. Loved it since i was a kid watching it in it's butchered Warriors of the Wind 1985 cut and now they have it uncut and better here in the states.

The Lost Boys

An awesome modern vampire classic! Still popular after all these years. Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Keither Sutherland and Jason Patric with Alex Winter all shine in this awesome vampire classic that portrays vampires as modern punks.

The Keep
The Keep(1983)

Fantastic underrated Supernatural horror fantasy about an ancient vampiric golem evil unleashed in WWII Romania from a Keep. Michael Mann does great direction and the score by Tangerine Dream is fantastic, it's scary and well made with great actors like Ian Mckellen, Gabriel Bryne to Scott Glenn.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie

An awesome adaptation of the comics done right and not being of the cartoon. I saw this 3 times in a theater back in 1990 at age 8 and this movie still rocks.

Christopher Nolan's best mvie next to Dark Knight and Memento really brings out the brains in a blockbuster and ideas to filmmakers. Nolan is a true cinematic genius and this is one of the best Sci-fi movies ever, it's the new Blade Runner what Avatar was to being the new Star Wars.

Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season

Excellent series that is a more serious Twilght and up there with True Blood, Supernatural, Moonlight and other cool vampire shows of recent memory. I even liked how they made fun of Twilight in a good way and show us cool characters.

Excellent Sci-fi take on vampirism and one of the better vampire movies in recent memory with a fresh and unique original concept influenced by Richard Matheson's I AM LEGEND novella which was filmed 3 times. It has vampirism as a disease and a unique but unsusal cure.

The cast is solid even Dafoe as a former vampire turned ass-kicking vampire hunter who wants to cure vampires. Gory and fun stuff that i recommend.

Fright Night 2

Fantastic underrated sequel! i think it's a worthy follow-up with good comedy, zombies that eat bugs and worms, a werewolf/vampire half-breed, a rollerskating vampire and Regine is a sexy dish to be Jerry's sister. William and Roddy return together to hunt down other vampires, this one is a cool follow-up.

Still the best Batman movie ever! i like this more than Dark Knight which was still great but this was a nostalgic childhood memory that i still love and cherish. Keaton is better than Bale while i think Ledger is the better Joker, but this is still a memorable masterpiece.

The Forsaken
The Forsaken(2001)

Underrated and lesser known but enjoyable vampire epic that is sort of a homage to Near Dark and The Lost Boys to even The Hitcher. Some of the gals are quite sexy like Izabella as Megan.

A Bug's Life
A Bug's Life(1998)

A brilliant and highly underrated Pixar animated movie! so much better than Cars so far and the cast is just brilliant. Kevin Spacey is awesome as the bad guy and has a magical quality.

Ninja Scroll
Ninja Scroll(1995)

One of the most badass animated movies ever! Yoshiaki Kawajari has created his ultimate classic besides Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust and the quite good Wicked City.

Here is such a gory as hell and unique cult classic that is inspiring and influential.

Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3(2010)

An excellent finale to a great landmark animated film series! I love that the crew are back with new toys like Ken (Voiced by Michael Keaton) to Lotso (Voiced by Ned Beatty).

This time Andy has grown up as the toys are being left to the local daycare center where they think it will be paradise when it's actually hell ran by Lotso who is much like a prison warden. They all must bust out to get back to Andy before he leaves to College.

The weakest of the series as it's nowhere as magical as the first two but still an excellent finale. Recommended! there's good laughs in it too.

From Dusk Till Dawn

WICKED MOVIE! loved this movie since 96 when i rented it on video at age 14, one of my all time favorite movies of all time. It's one of the most action packed horror comedies of all time thanks to the magic of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino to create a gore-bath beyond your belief.

Selma Hayak is probably the sexiest vampiress on film as Santico Pandimonium, George Clooney and others shine. A must see.

The Howling
The Howling(1981)

A werewolf masterpiece and one of the best werewolf movies. Came the same year as An American Werewolf in London showing us two modern that still holds up werewolf movies that audiences can enjoy.

Dee Wallace Stone with others gives us great performances and there is gore, amazing transformations and horror galore makes this a real shocker you won't forget.

Shaun of the Dead

One of the best horror comedies of all time! i was lucky enough to see this baby when it came out here in US theaters and it rocked my world. Simon Pegg and director

Lesbian Vampire Killers

Fun comedy with a small dose of humor, lesbian action and tame violence without any gore as this is a Troma-esque horror comedy that tries to be like "Shaun of the Dead" with vampires but falls a bit flat.

It's still enjoyable though.

Horror of Dracula

Brilliant version of Bram Stoker's ageless story of vampires! Christopher Lee is just as awesome as Bella Lougsi and even Frank Langella to Gary Oldman as Dracula.

Here is where Hammer horror got popular thanks to this masterpiece! great acting, good production values and scares makes this a winner.

A real human vampire movie! George Romero gives us a unique and fascinating realistic vampire movie about madness, vampirism and blood-drinking with a bit of gore by Tom Savini.

Most recommended.

John Carpenter's Vampires

One of my high school faves! this one is pure fun even though it's not a masterpiece like Near Dark ever was but i do enjoy this as one of the most fun, goriest and sleekiest vampire movies around. James Woods rocks in this one and Katrina is a babe.

Once Bitten
Once Bitten(1985)

Fun comedy that i enjoyed since i was a preteen in the 90's! Jim Carrey did a good role as the hollywood teen who falls for a lovely vampire chick. Does have good laughs like the homoerotic but funny shower sequence.

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2(2010)

Outstanding sequel! has the same impact, brains and talent like the original. Even though at times it feels like a pilot for 2012's The Avengers which would be good. Scarlett was hot as Black Widow and Samuel gives us more of him as Nick Fury, recommended.

The Loch Ness Horror

Funny as hell guilty pleasure from Larry Buchauan. A fake as hell monster, sexism, funny as hell dialog and bad acting at their best in the Ed Wood tradition.

Funny stuff.

Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter

Brilliant vampire movie and one of Hammer's greatest movies. This is one of the movies that feature vampires that are part of the Psychic-vampire or Psi-vampire or energy-vampire variety kind of vampire where they don't suck blood but suck out energy/youth/lifeforces instead like in 1985's Lifeforce or Sleepwalkers.

This movie is even better than Van Helsing all the way and it paved the way for similar vampire hunter movies like Vampire Hunter D series to all the way to Blade even though Blade was a Marvel comic made in 1973 but the movies are similar to Kronos.

Caroline Munro is a gorgeous b-movie and British actress for this film and this is one of my favorite Hammer movie and vampire movies.

Not quite a masterpiece and far from it, it is a fun and enjoyable romantic fantasy epic based on the guilty pleasure novels and this movie is a pure guilty pleasure from start. The acting isn't too bad and some parts are a bit silly like the whole Cullen's race that can sparkle like diamonds in the sun but it's a fun movie that captures the spirit of the novel.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space

A great Sci-fi horror comedy cult classic! one of my childhood faves from the 80's with originality, creativity and great special effects. Check this one out!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Not as charming as the original movie but still an enjoyable and fun sequel that introduces the awesome and more darker vampires called Volturi. This sequel is messy at times but i hope part 3 will improve and has an awesome director for part 3 known as David Slade of 30 Days of Night fame.

Near Dark
Near Dark(1987)

Simply a modern horror masterpiece of the macabre and vamipre movies! this one features not the typical vampires of fangs but more white-trash modern ones who can burn in the sun and this is like a modern western for the 80's only drentched in gore and characterization.

Recommended and one of my faves since i was 16.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Awesome sequel that surpasses the original! brilliantly stunning animation, great storyline and action abound makes this a winner in my books. Kawajarri has created a masterpiece like Wicked City and Ninja Scroll.

The Hunger
The Hunger(1983)

A masterpiece of the vampire film subgenre! this movie is an influential cult classic with Susan Surandon, David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve shine. There is some sexy action between Catherine and Susan Surandon in one of the hottest scenes shown on film. This one has a bisexual Egyptian vampiress and her lover played by Bowie who seek the blood of a female doctor.

A very artsy and unique vampire myth take where the vampires are of the Egyptian vampire kind where they don't burn in the sunlight but walk in the daylight and have no fangs but sharp as razor blades human teeth as they can use a sharp object to slit throats and even bite people.

Recommended stuff.

Fascinating Sci-fi horror movie from Tobe Hooper and Dan 'O Bannon is one of the most underrated of it's kind. Patrick Stewart does a minor role in this movie, i also love how this movie does a interesting reinvention on the vampire and zombie subgenre by telling us that vampires, succubus and zombies of legends and myth came from aliens eons ago.

It's also nice to see that the vampires in this movie aren't portrayed as stereotypes of the Dracula kind as they have no fangs and don't suck blood but suck out energy/lifeforces/youth/souls instead of blood. I really love how fresh this concept on the tired film vampire genre is and did something different.

Matilda May steals the show as the main vampiress from space, the special effects are good for it's time and should be seen. Not as good as the book but quite fun.

An awesome cult fave based on Marvel Comics, spawned an excellent sequel and a weak final sequel. This made Marvel comic movies big and Wesley Snipes was perfect for the part in this gore-feast action dazzler with fantasy and action abound.

Bride of Re-Animator

Great sequel to a a horror/Sci-fi masterpiece of the 80's as this has good laughs, gore and the return of Dr. Hill.

Let the Right One In

One of the best movies of the decade! a pure original Swedish work of genius about adolescent

Phenomena (Creepers)

Awesome underrated Psycho horror fantasy from Dario Argento with Jennifer Connelly in one of her debuts with Donald Pleasance, this Italian shocker has gore and mystery to it.

Another great Pauly Shore comedy, i enjoyed his comedies since junior high in the 90's.

Cat People
Cat People(1982)

Rather kinky and compelling remake of the 1942 horror fantasy movie but reimagined very differently. It stars gorgeous nude Natassia Kinski, Annette O'Toole, John Heard and Malcom Mcdowell.

It deals with a young woman who refuses to believe that she is part of a race of humanoid cat people that can only mate with each other even if it's incest but if they can't they transform into panthers but can change back if they kill. Sexually explicit and violent re-imagining in it's own right if inferior to the original movie.

The City of Lost Children (La CitÚ des Enfants Perdus)

A brilliant work of cinematic art from France! a mix of Sci-fi, fantasy and dark comedy from Jean Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. Very Terry Gilliam-esque and unique, i recommend it.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Another superb sequel of the outstanding HP fantasy franchise! i like how Mike Newell took some liberties including some loose ones and made this a gold installment due to the PG-13 rating.

Tora! Tora! Tora!

The best and most accurate movie about pearl harbor you'll ever see.

The Crazies
The Crazies(2010)

Fantastic remake! one that surpasses one of Romero's weakest movies that is actually produced it and made by a direct who has a love for the original and not doing it for the sake of cash like some remakes of the genre are.

Worst remake ever of the horror genre and the worst remake i've ever seen! such a horrible piece of shit that should have never, ever ever have been made. This blasphemy of a remake is just shot-to-shot, word-by-word, scene-by-scene, and that sort of thing with the same score. I dunno what they were thinking?

Avoid this remake and see the original 1960 masterpiece instead.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Fantastic remake of a true 50's Sci-fi horror classic! Donald Sutherland, Leonard Nimoy with Jeff Goldblum all give outstanding acting performances.

It is a reflection on the Jimmy Carter era and about mass invasion as much as the original was to the McCarthy era.

King Kong
King Kong(2005)

Brilliant remake that manages to improve over that terrible 1976 attempt and be as good as the original classic. Peter Jackson delivers an exciting if overlong and brilliant reincarnation of a masterpiece.

An 80's masterpiece! Joe Dante with Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg have collabrated together to create one hell of a horror-fantasy-comedy that packs a wallop and good laughs.

Suprisingly good and fun psycho-thriller about a killer orangutan used for an experiment as beautiful Elizabeth Shue is terrorized.

It's fun.

Rambo (Rambo IV)

Best Rambo sequel ever!

Visitor Q (BijitÔ Q)

Quite a good and sick dark horror comedy from Takashi Miike is quite a chore to sit through but does have some laughs and stomach churning stuff.

The Final Destination

Going back to basics like the first two after the weak third one, this one goes in amazing 3D and has some of the satisfying gore that made this series popular.

The Toolbox Murders

A guilty pleasure of mine! it's so sleazy, raw and vile that you want a shower afterwards and it's good in that way.

One of the best zombie movies around! a great mix of horror and comedy about the cliches of zombie movies. Recommended!

Drag Me to Hell

Awesome comeback of Sam Raimi to the horror genre, alot of old fashioned style fun with a gory sense of humor and terror. A must see!

Trick 'r Treat

One of the best horror movies of the new decade! fun, gory, thrilling and hilarious horror stories in the Tales from the Crypt mode.

Inferior to the original Spanish version REC, this US English remake is nearly shot-to-shot and not as intense.

Mountain of the Cannibal God (La montagna del dio cannibale) (Primitive Desires) (Slave of the Cannibal God)

Fun pre-Indiana Jones type horror adventure with decent performances, gore and horrific animal cruelty done for real like your typical Italian cannibal movie. Not as horrifying as Cannibal Holocaust but still good.

Hokuto no ken (Fist of the North Star)

Rockin' anime movie! really kicks major ass all the way with great animation, excellent storytelling and brutal graphic violence all the way.

The Beyond (...E tu vivrai nel terrore! L'aldilÓ)

Lucio Fulci's all time masterpiece of terror! very graphic and unique with atmosphere and darkness despite a silly plot.

House of 1000 Corpses

Quite misunderstood horror gem that was panned by critics but either loved, liked or hated by horror fans. Rob Zombie made one hell of a debut here and it's been surpassed by "Devil's Rejects".

H2: Halloween II

A nice conclusion of Rob Zombie's Halloween 2-parter isn't too bad but it is amusing, very gory and stylish. Weird Al Yankovic does an appearence in this movie as himself which was one of the good things including the kills making this another gory entry much like Halloween 4.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

A nice return of Michael Myers! After Halloween III: Season of the Witch attempted to turn the franchise into a big screen horror anthology of different halloween themed horror stories every year but the fans didn't know about it and the film was a bomb at the box-office. The idea ended a quick death and 7 years later Michael returned. Here Pleasance returns as Loomis and future hottie Danielle Harris plays 7 year victim who is a niece of Michael Myers.

This is the bloodiest Halloween movie next to Rob Zombie's version! this one will satisfy fans of Michael Myers and the ending is so twisted it' gotta be seen to believed.

Halloween H2O

Disregards parts 3 to 6 like they didn't happen, this was originally intended to be the final chapter of Michael Myers's legacy of death and continues off parts 1 and 2. Jamie Lee Curtis returns with a solid cast as she fights her brother once more.

Great fun!

The Serpent and the Rainbow

Underrated but terrific realistic and dark zombie movie with Bill Pullman whom you know from Spaceballs and Independence Day that is about actual zombies in Haiti where black magic doctors use a formula to turn people into zombies.

La casa sperduta nel parco (House on the Edge of the Park)

A real sleazy ordeal of a movie! guaranteed to make you wanna take a shower for a day, so much better then the original Last House on The Left. It suceeds more even with better acitng as it stars David Hess and John Morghen as it's a parade of rape, bloody violence and of course a good story.

Not for the weak hearted but still worth watching.

The Pit
The Pit(1981)

Bizarre guilty pleasure as a disabled mentally boy seeks revenge on those that harassed him as he befriends monsters in the forest in a pit.

It's quite an odd movie that is disturbing and startling at times but still fun.

La sindrome di Stendhal (The Stendhal Syndrome)

Enjoyable and imaginative Italian supernatural horror fantasy thriller that has the feeling of Dario Argento's original 80's and 70's movies. Asia Argento is quite a dish in this movie and the gore is quite good, it's quite a surreal artsy horror flick but not for all tastes.

Tetsuo: The Ironman

Not much a movie but more like a extended MTV surral music video. This experimental Sci-fi horror thriller from Japan is one of the weirdest and sickest movies i've ever seen. It's quite Cronenberg meets "Akira" kind of stuff here.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Fairly decent reboot of the TCM franchise after it went down the down with the terrible TCM part 4 in 1994 which sucked balls. I think this is an enjoyable and very gory remake that has the most gore since parts 2 and 3 of the TCM series.

Nowhere near the original but still a fair time waster, there's better remakes then this.

The Fly
The Fly(1986)

David Cronenberg's second best after Videodrome! a remake of pure Sci-fi horror brilliance that grosses out and has brains with it including excellent performances.

Dr. Giggles
Dr. Giggles(1992)

One of my favorite overlooked slasher movies! lots of dark humor and gory brutal violence makes this a must see horror comedy.

Dawn of the Dead

Suprisingly terrific remake of George A. Romero's 1978 masterpiece! first timer director Zack Sydner has renvisioned the classic horror flick this time as an action packed, gory as hell and fun zombie romp with the type of zombies you've seen from "Return of the Living Dead".

I first thought this was gonna blow when i heard it was going to be remade back in 2003 then when i saw the teaser i thought, maybe it will not be so bad but then when i saw this in the theater i was suprised on how good it turned out. A great remake in it's own right!

Night of the Living Dead

Fairly decent remake of George Romero classic with a nice cast including Bill Mosley and Tony Todd from director Tom Savini, but still the classic is better. If it ain't broken don't fix it! it's kind of shot-to-shot but still enjoyable but i think "Dawn of The Dead 2004" is far better for it did something different on it's source rather then repeat it.

The Ring
The Ring(2002)

One of the better remakes in recent memory of the horror genre! really has brilliant acting and a nice premise like the original Japanese movie.

Funny Games
Funny Games(1998)

Excellent psychological horror thriller from Austria that really hits a nerve among the viewer and probes into the mind for a memorable trip to hell and back. If you liked "Misery", seek out this brilliant gem of a film that will numb you for a bit.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Brilliant and funny as hell yet vulget animated comedy for adults is more shocking and as witty as the show.

Disaster Movie

Someone wake me up so i can walk out on this bomb!

Pinocchio's Revenge

Enjoyable psychological horror thriller b-movie in the vein of "Puppet Master", "Magic", "Trilogy of Terror" and even "Pin" about descending into a madness weither it's the puppet or child being the murderer. Definitely worth watching!

Friday the 13th, Part VI - Jason Lives

Brilliant installment of the franchise! so much better then the ill-receieved part 5 as it manages to be funny, gory and just plain fun as it brings back everyone's favorite hockey-masked maniac to life.

Lots of gore and self-referential humor that propels this series into sky high even with an amazing soundtrack by Alice Cooper.

Lo Squartatore di New York (The New York Ripper)

Controversial and sleazy Italian crime horror thriller from Lucio Fulci is probably his sickest and most mean spirited movie yet. It's about a mad killer who's daughter was in a accident and vows to kill every woman in New York even in horrific ways.

There's scenes fo ugly torture and murder shown sometimes kind of sexists even a nipple sliced with a razor, before there was "Saw" and "Hostel" there was "The New York Ripper". Not for the faint of heart!

Hostel Part II

A sequel that is far better then the first one! quite gory and enjoyable yet more intense but still flawed like the first movie, Eli Roth did tried to make a political subtext in the first movie while this one goes more to the jugular and can be considered sexist much like the infamous trash classic "Bloodsucking Freaks".

Star Trek: First Contact

A work of pure excellence! one of the greatest movies of the saga is a must have and see for every Trekkie including myself.

Zombi 2
Zombi 2(1980)

Excellent Italian zombie shocker that has shocking scenes of gore like the memorable eyeball stabbing sequence you won't forget. This movie introduced me to Lucio Fulci and i loved it.

Final Destination 3

Weakest of the series but great kills and accident gore abound!

Friday the 13th Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan

Not as bad as fans said, it was kind of mess but fun at the same time with a great theme song and of course some good kills.

An American Werewolf in London

One of the true horror classics of all time from the 80's that holds up today. A brilliant mix of thrills, laughs, gory violence

Friday the 13th Part 2

The introduction of Jason Voorhees as the killer, this time he seeks revenge for his mother's death. A new camp is going to open near the infamous site but the camp owners refuse to hear warnings only that each will be dead.

Bloody effects with a sense of fun, although Jason wears only a burlap sack for a mask and it wasn't until part 3 where he finally wears his famed hockey mask.

Halloween III - Season of the Witch

Underrated sequel that gets unknown hate! Sure Michael Myers isn't in it, there's a reason why. John Carpenter was done with Michael Myers after the second Halloween as he had enough of him and had his story including Dr. Loomis's done with. He came up with a concept to make the franchise into a big screen horror anthology much like "Twilight Zone", "Creepshow", "Tales from The Crypt", "Heavy Metal" or "Grindhouse" of each different halloween themed horror story every year, but unfortunately he didn't tell audiences this concept so when the film came out, people were confused and the film bombed with fans demanding Michael back so the idea was canned and Michael came back in 1988.

I thought it is a nice Sci-fi horror thriller in the vein of "HP Lovecraft" about a conspiracy that will happen on halloween, it's great fun even without Michael.

Great introduction to a nice superhero series, it began the Marvel reniassance with "Blade" and "Spider-Man" which all succeeded in bringing the comics to the big screen. Bryan Singer's vision is quite unique in a film universe about learning to accept another race of beings different from humans and has great action.

The sequel however blows this one away.

Dead of Night

A true horror anthology masterpiece of the macabre, the best tale is the final story about a mad ventriloquist and his evil dummy. Check it out!

Twilight Zone---The Movie

One of my favorite movies ever! loved this for ages, a wonderful Sci-fi horror fantasy anthology based on the popular TV show with an all-star cast and great stories including the last one the best.

A must see!

Fun Japanese horror action fantasy loaded with gore, zombies, bullets flying, brains splattering and more. It's like John Woo meets "Dead Alive", great fun for every zombie fan.

Street Trash
Street Trash(1986)

One of the coolest, funniest and goriest horror comedies i've ever seen. Features Pat Ryan Jr. of "Toxic Avenger" plays as a necrophilic sleazeball of a junkyard store owner as bums are drinking toxic alchohol and blowing up into gory pieces.

The Hills Have Eyes

Brilliant remake of a classic Wes Craven shocker nearly surpasses the original with excellent acting, great gore effects and suprises abound.

Pet Sematary
Pet Sematary(1989)

Quite good adaptation of a great book from Stephen King is not quite faithful but a shocking and disturbing ride of zombies and supernatural.

One of the best horror movies i've ever seen! unique stuff that manages to blow Cloverfield out of the water, excellent zombie movie with great acting and stuff.

See it!

Excellent and very funny Canadian Sci-fi horror comedy satire set in a alternate 1958 where zombies are kept as slaves. Great stuff even with some gore thrown in!

Dead and Buried

One of the most underrated Sci-fi horror shockers of all time! writer Dan O'Bannon of "Return of the Living Dead", "Alien" and "Total Recall" fame and director Gary Sherman brings us a ghastly but smart zombie movie about a California town gone bad no thanks to a local corner who experiments on people. Does star Lisa Marie, Barry Corbin, Jack Albertson and others with some memorable moments of shocks like the syringe in the eye.

The Blob
The Blob(1988)

Awesome remake that surpasses the original in any way! exellent special effects and great performances with a script from Chuck Russell and Frank Darabont who did the script to "Elm Street 3" made a superior Sci-fi horror movie much like The Thing in 1982 or Cronenberg's The Fly.

Blood Diner
Blood Diner(1987)

A fun and grueling yet funny guilty pleasure in the Troma mode about two cannibal brothers who want to bring a goddess back to life. Shocking, gory and has a dark sense of humor.

The greatest music video of all time! now that MJ is dead, i think this music video should be a reminder of the great days of his music before he became weird. It's a nice mix of horror and music combined with direction from John Landis of "American Werewolf in London" and "Animal House" fame and make-up effects by Rick Baker.

The Curse
The Curse(1987)

A fair HP Lovecraft based Sci-fi horror thriller about a meteorite that falls in a family's backyard and creates havok as it mutates the crops, animals and themselves. Stars Wil Wheaton, John Schnedier and Claude Atkins at their best, it's slimy fun.

Day of the Dead

Brilliant underrated part of the Romero Zombie saga that has the goodness of both "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead" but with more advanced zombies then in "Dawn". It's often been called the weakest of the classic Romero movies but does have great performances and shocking scenes of graphic gory violence that is guaranteed to make anyone puke.

Excellent horror thriller about a ventriloquist played by Anthony Hopkins who's dummy becomes evil and his own master as he orders his master to kill. Great thrilling movie with great acting and stuff including the scariest dummy this side of Fletcher from "Making Contact (a.k.a. Joey)".

Death Proof
Death Proof(2007)

Weakest of the two movies used in the amazing Grindhouse double feature, it's a bit slow but does have some good action sequences neverthless and a great performance by Kurt Russell.

Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door

Really good and hard to watch epic adaptation of a Jack Ketchum novel is really a well acted and horrific treat, definitely not for everyone but still good stuff.

The Driller Killer

Sick but artsy splatter drama in the vein of "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer"

The Gate
The Gate(1987)

Excellent underrated supernatural Canadian horror cult fave! Stephen Dorff makes his debut before he was in Blade as he plays a young boy with his best friend who discover that a hole in their backyard is a gate to hell but they must shut it before it's too late.

Excellent for their time special effects and great storyline makes this one of my favorite horror movies ever.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Definitely inferior to the first movie, suffers a bit from "Ghostbusters 2" syndrome where the first movie was great but then was disappointing with the second movie. But it's still good fun but sometimes the sex jokes even with robots went a bit too far even the stereotype robots.

Love it or hate it or enjoy it, this brutal yet unique shocker from France and Canada is one of the better horror movies this new age. It's better then your average American Hostel wannabe but it's more like a religious version of "Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS".

Excellent stuff!

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

A decent attempt to bring the series to the big screen! Although it is very slow and not moving quite well, the special edition DVD does improve on the movie but it's still alright.

Part 2 was better.

Friday the 13th

Very cool revamp of the Friday The 13th series that brings it's back on it's feet. Well done and well made, it's not a remake in the traditional sense but a tribute of the first four movies in one with good gore and fine acting.

A must watch if you love the series.

Perfect Blue
Perfect Blue(1999)

Excellent Japanese animated horror thriller with excellent animation and suspenseful thrillers, i recommend it.

Non si deve profanare il sonno dei morti (Let Sleeping Corpses Lie) (Don't Open the Window)

Excellent, gory and thrilling Spanish-Italian-UK horror production. It's a zombie movie that is different then any of it's kind before "Dawn of the Dead" or Fulci's "Zombie" with good acting, a nice plot about chemicals being the source to zombies and gore galore including pubic hair ripped out bloodily.

A must see!

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Still the best Star Trek movie! managed to discard the not-so-bad first installment and create a trilogy of it's own that continued with part 3 then ended with part 4. This one is loaded with action with excellent performances and great special effects.

Cannibal Ferox

Gross but fun Italian cannibal epic of cheesiness and gore including some animal slaughtering. Lenzi is really at his peak with this movie!

Ghostbusters 2

Quite enjoyable sequel but doesn't live up to the original classic. It's still quite fun but hopefully the third movie will improve on this one.

Excellent horror comedy from Wes Craven who created the raw gritty classics from the 70's like "Last House on The Left" and "Hills Have Eyes" including the 80's fave "Nightmare on Elm Street" has created another film classic of his. A solid all-star cast and an original premise makes this one of the best horror movies around.

A daring and starling torture shocker in the tradition of the 70's and 80's grindhouse cinema away from the post-Scream era. It's inspired by films like "The New York Ripper", "Bloodsucking Freaks" and "Men Behind The Sun" as it plays as a misunderstood metaphor on European traveling and the sick mafia business.

A brilliant suspense horror thriller based on Stephen King's book is one of the best of it's kind. Kathy Bates puts on a show as the maniacal fan who keeps her favorite author at home, thrilling and exciting with memorable moments and great performances.

Battle Royale

Awesome Sci-fi action thriller from Japan, one of the best movies this new century. Very original, unique and startling with action, gore and great acting.

Terry Gilliam's masterpiece! A unique movie of fantasy and dark comedy combined in a Orwell meets "Time Bandits", great acting and it's a one of a kind movie.

The Exorcist
The Exorcist(1973)

A true horror masterpiece that has stood the test of time. It still shocks, appalls, frightens and even makes us believe in the supernatural with this nasty yet brilliant classic of the horror genre.

Dead Heat
Dead Heat(1988)

Fun mindless zombie epic! it's a horror action comedy with Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo as a couple of cops kicking the asses of many zombies while one of them has many hours before he can die.

It's 48 Hours meets Re-Animator, it's great fun.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors

The best Elm Street sequel hands down! after that horrendous and very gay Elm Street 2 nearly crippling the series, this one follows the original quite well with Wes Craven and Chuck Russell with Shawshank director Frank Darabont as screenwriters with Russell as director who did the superb 1988 Blob movie.

Has a solid cast, a sense of fun and fantastic imaginative scenes makes this movie a winner.

An 80's classic! Arnold delivers all the goods with action, gore, suspense and brilliant make-up/specal effects by Stan Winston creating one of the most badass creatures on film.

A Clockwork Orange

A 70's Sci-fi masterpiece of a totalitarian future gone mad due to punks and gangs, Malcom Mcdowell is the true star of this movie as Alex.

Very controversial and violent stuff, it's a must see.

Jump magic jump! a magical Henson fantasy epic though not as great as his earlier Dark Crystal but still has some great sense of fun.

Time Bandits
Time Bandits(1981)

Magical, funny and unique fantasy comedy adventure from Terry Gilliam is one of his best and part of his big 80's fantasy trilogy that was followed by "Brazil" and finished with "Adventures of Baron Munchausen". A nice all-star cast including Sean Connery with a brilliant screenplay by Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam makes this a must see.

Terror at the Opera

Excellent Italian horror thriller from Italian terror maestro Dario Argento! It's an exciting, vibrant gory and nicely acted. A recommended movie for slasher fans!

Repo! The Genetic Opera

Sensational musical, though not for everyone. It mixes Sci-fi, horror, comedy and fantasy togther in one very "Blade Runner" meets "Brazil" and "Heavy Metal"-esque movie that is sure to be a cult masterpiece.

Star Trek
Star Trek(2009)

Brilliant restart of the Sci-fi movie franchise! tells how a Iowa farm boy named James Kirk was one a farmer boy turned into a space captain including how he met Spock with the rest of the crew.

An all-star cast propelled with JJ Abrahams uniqueness abound, it really saved the series after the bleh "Nemesis".

Stephen King's 'Cat's Eye'

One of my favorite horror anthologies! underrated and loaded with fun stories including that creepy little troll story that every kid in the 80's were scared of. Nice all-star cast and great fun!

Pink Floyd - The Wall

A work of genius! i'm a fan of the band yet the movie adaptation of their greatest album suceeds. It tells about a man depressed with himself and feels like garbage for he fights against society, it has a amazing mix of live-action and animation through music in this excellent rock opera.

The Garbage Pail Kids Movie

Not that bad but it's a silly and fun yet tasteless comedy based on those awesome cards.

The Transformers - The Movie

Cult animated Sci-fi classic, still a great movie with an awesome all-star voice cast and good animation.

Also check out the live-action movie.

T˘ky˘ Zankoku Keisatsu (Tokyo Gore Police)

Rockin' and very cool Japanese gorebath in the Peter Jackson and "Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky" tradition is like a Manga brought to life.

Legend of the Overfiend (Ch˘jin densetsu Urotsukid˘ji)

Nicely animated but very shocking animated erotic horror fantasy that makes "Heavy Metal" look like "Hellraiser". This is the movie that started all that tentacle rape anime stuff for it's loaded with rape, gore, sex, bisexuality, lesbiansim, exploding heads, mutilation, demon battles and every excess around.

The Last Unicorn

A magical and unique animated fantasy epic with an all-star cast and solid storyline. It's a must see and one of the best fantasy epics around! for the guys there's a hot toon chick in this one.

Jury Duty
Jury Duty(1995)

Funny and entertaining comedy that is my favorite movie from Pauly Shore! Tia Carrera is sizzling in this movie and has some funny moments.Worth a look! one of my favorite comedies.

Making Contact

A magical, highly underrated and unique cult German supernatural horror fantasy drama modern fairy tale that is one of my favorite movies of all time since Junior High in the 90's. I saw this movie when i was 5 in 1986 in a theater in St. Louis and it scared the bejesus out of me even with that scary little bastard of a dummy. It's influenced by the movies of George Lucas with a bit of the stories of The Grimms Brothers and The Twilight Zone TV show as i always believe this is Roland Emmerich's best movie.

The story is about a 9 year old boy named Joey Collins played nicely by Joshua Morrell, he loves movies like Star Wars and E.T. as he has a big collection of the movie merchandise in his room and his dad just kicked the bucket. He lives in Virgina Beach City with his mother now in the suburbs near the beach, one night he gains telekinetic and psychic powers that enables him to make his toys including Star Wars figures come to life and even communicate with his dead dad on a toy Phone. However he becomes unpopular at school for the kids thinks he's crazy, one day he finds a creepy ventriloquist dummy in a old abandoned mansion that belong to a magician. He takes it home with him only to find it that is it possessed by a demon with powers like Joey's only stronger as it terrorizes the boy and threatens his mother, friends, enemies, teacher and city with demons from another dimension as the boy must end the madness.

It's a dark and not-too-sugar-coated modern fable with a nice edge of creepiness and some emotion with suprisingly good acting from Joshua Morrell and Eva Kryll. The dummy is the scariest one to hit the screen since Fats from Magic, it nicely uses some movie references in a playful non-spirited and non-sarcastic kind of way as this movie is really about the imagination of a 9 year old boy who dreams of living in his favorite movies like Star Wars and E.T. yet it brings out the child in anyone who had that same idea as a child to live out their favorite movies. The film is also about learning how to cope with death and learning about it and of course the power of the heart, it offers good lessons about life as well and i think it's far better then Emmerich's hollywood stuff.

A must see even on Youtube!

Land of the Dead

A Nice installment of the Dead franchise from George Romero, it still has the excitment of the series and loaded with gore and satire.

The Last House on the Left

A great reimagining of a horror classic and it's produced by Wes Craven and Sean S. Cunningham who did the original. Very brutal and hard to watch movie just like the classic as the acting is superb and very harrowing.

A fantastic adaptation of the ultimate graphic novel, very honest and true to it's source, it's a sure fire winner.

Bloodsucking Freaks

Sick, twisted yet exciting sleaze feast that caused a stir back in the 70's and influenced the likes of "Hostel" and even the Torture Porn Genre.

It's funny and disturbing at the same time and one of the better Troma movies.

HULK VS.(2009)

An awesome double feature movie of great animation, violence, and action with the green machine against Wolverine and Thor.

A masterpiece of pure perfection! 'nuff said.

Inside (└ l'intÚrieur)

A work of sheer demonic brilliance! Alexandre Bustillo who made a wonderful debut on this shocking and thrilling psychological horror thriller is one of the bloodiest movies ever and most unique.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D

Awesome reimagining of the 1981 cult slasher classic brings back the fun of 80's and 70's horror back thanks to it's dark humor, gory violence, hot nudity and of course in 3-D but the best way to view this baby is in 3D.

A definite winner when it comes to recent remakes with "Dawn of the Dead" and "Hills Have Eyes" and "The Ring".

Apocalypse Domani (Cannibal Apocalypse)

Interesting and gory action horror movie from Italy and Spain. It's a metaphore on how vietnam affects people and has good gore.

Stars John Saxton and Giovanni Radrice.

Incubo sulla cittÓ contaminata (Nightmare City) (Invasion by the Atomic Zombies)

This is the movie that created fast moving zombies before "Dawn of the Dead (2004)"! a cool, exciting and action packed Sci-fi horror action feast from Umberto Lenzi is a fine Mexican/Italian/Spanish flick with gore, hotties, action and a dumb twist in the end.

Return of the Living Dead 3

A big improvement over part 2 which felt like a rehash of the true cult classic. This one brings life to the series with the magic of "Re-Animator" co-maker Brian Yuzna and that sexy zombie chick plus some good gore scenes.

Excellent animated comedy for adults from Ralph Bakshi and one of my favorite animated movies for a long time.

Rozzie is smokin' hot here with those big knockers, recommended.

Awesome French slasher flick from Alexandre Aja is a suspenseful and gory as hell thriller that holds no bar. The twist maybe dumb but the film is a solid shocker!

A true animated masterpiece! one of the all time best movies and best animated features ever. Loved this since i was a kid in the 80's! this movie will live in my heart forever.

Great start to a great comic book movie series! Mcguire was great playing the part of Spidy and Dafoe nearly steals the show as Greengoblin despite looking like a Power Ranger.

The sequel is even better!

The Kentucky Fried Movie

One of my favorite comedies! a great parody that gives out good raunchy laughs, Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg take notes on this on how to make an ACTUAL SPOOF.

The Dark Knight

WHAT A MOVIE! Now all sequels should be as good as this one, Ledger gave an amazing final performance as Joker whom definitely is better then Nicholson all the way as this Joker feels more like Sweeny Todd than Nicholson.

Bob Kane would be proud with this movie and the way Bale with Nolan are doing these Batman movies.

Meet the Spartans

Absolutely worthless spoof! it doesn't even spoof good at all! it's just a bunch of other movies combined with product placement and pop culture references of recent lately.

What a piece of garbage! Never see Jason and Aaron's upcomng piece of shit "Disaster Movie".

The Incredible Hulk

Awesome reboot for the franchise! it's far better then Ang Lee's flawed effort, Edward Norton made a damned good Banner and Tim Roth played Abomination well.

A good storyline with lots of action, emotion, and good special effects makes this a pure winner. Also look for a cameo by Tony Stark in this movie.

The Shining
The Shining(1980)

Truly awesome and timeless supernatural horror classic that may not be true to King's excellent novel but Kubirck's vision was still a terrific movie in it's own right.

A must see!

Sleazy and gory as hell slasher movie with a good performance by Joe Spinell and excellent make-up effects by Tom Savini.

This is a geniunely bone chilling and vile movie that you won't forget.

Kung Fu Panda

The greatest Dreamworks movie yet since "Shrek 1 & 2" and "Over the Hedge". This is a film in the studios for the first time that doesn't rely on gross jokes or pop culture references, it's rather a straight foward and original animated comedy with great animation and good CGI.

What a cast too and perhaps the most amazing animated action sequences in a animated movie since "Ninja Scroll".

From Beyond
From Beyond(1986)

Another solid Sci-fi horror comedy winner from Brian Yuzna and Stuart Gordon much like their brilliant "Re-Animator". Even though it's not truly true to the source of H.P. Lovecraft's story, it is a great slimy and fun movie with great performances by Ken Foree, Jeffery Combs, Ted Sorel and Barbara Crampton.

Sad, entertaining and just plain fun Sci-fi actioner with good performances, stunning effects and Bruce Willis doing his best as a hero. Liv Tyler is hot in this one, one of my favorites.

Awesome Sci-fi action adventure that nicely captivates the classic cartoon of the 80's in glorious fashion. Megan Fox is quite a looker in this movie!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Sheer perfection at it's finest! The entire trilogy happens to be the greatest trilogy in the history of films since the classic "Star Wars" trilogy or "Indiana Jones".

Total Recall
Total Recall(1990)

Kick-butt Sci-fi actioner from Paul Verhoeven delivers all the goods from sexy Sharon Stone, gore, action and spectacular visual effects.

One of my all time faves.

Batman Returns

The last really good live-action Batman movie before "Begins", i thought they did a nice and eerie job on the Bat mythos here even though they changed Penguin's origin. But it's good freaky fun for anyone who likes dark flicks.

Superman III
Superman III(1983)

It's NOT that bad people! sure it gets a little silly and over the top at times even when focusing on Richard Pryor then Superman. But i think this is a fun movie! sure as hell is alot better then the disgraceful "Superman 4".

Guilty pleasure! what guy wouldn't fall for Helen Slater in that skimpy outfit. If you could find the 2-disc limited edition with the extended footage then the movie makes more sense.

A nice addition to the Superman franchise.

The Passion of the Christ

Powerful and unique vision of the death and resurrection of Jesus's christ. Horrifying scenes of extreme violence and realism galore with a great score and emotion abound.

You have to seek out this movie and have a good time.

One of the 80's greatest Sci-fi movies! Paul Verhoeven has made a masterpiece of his own. Peter Weller was just perfect playing the title hero, this is a gory as hell and superb Sci-fi action flick that plays as both a superhero movie for adults and a social satire.

Not for the faint of heart, it's a must see.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

A worthy follow-up to Tobe Hooper's horror masterpiece! this one is more of a comedy than a serious one like the original and offers more gore thanks to the make-up wizardy of Tom Savini.

Dennis Hooper takes the show as Lt. Lefty Enright as he seeks revenge against the flesh-eating bastards that killed his sister. This is what made Bill Moseley who he is today.

Fun campy Sci-fi fantasy adventure with an early appearence by the ever flawless Liam Neeson, this is a nice cross between "Flash Gordon" and "Excalibur".

Worth watching!

Entertaining horror comedy vampire romp with Grace Jones as the title vampiress stripper, the lovely Dedee Pfeifer, Chris Makepeace as the likable hero and E.R.'s Gedee Wantanabe.

If you love Sci-fi and "Akira" then see this movie.

The Running Man

One of my personal favorites! it may not be as good as Stephen King's book but this Sci-fi action thriller is a helluva fun for anyone who likes the genres.

"Well that hit the spot"! as Arnold Schwartzenger says.

Saw III(2006)

The weakest of the series but still there's some good traps and of course Jigsaw's memorable skull surgery sequence.

It's not as good as the first two or the fourth but worth seeing.

The Silence of the Lambs

One of the greatest movies around! this is a masterful psychological horror thriller that nearly surpasses it's underrated prequel "Manhunter" all the way and is true to the book by Thomas Harris.

Anthony Hopkins truly nailed the role as everyone's favorite cannibalistic doctor.

I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman)

Really repulsive and controversial rape revenge horror flick is a notorious film indeed. Everything you heard of this movie is true, it's a sick and harrowing yet sleazy movie about fememism and revenge.

The castration sequence will make any male viewer cringe their butt off.

Very cool Sci-fi fantasy animated adventure from Ralph Bakshi as it's one of the best cult animated movies ever.

Good animation design with some rotoscoping, bizarre imagery, graphic animated violence and fairy babes such as Ellinore.

The second pinnicle of 80's action movies besides "Die Hard" with "Lethal Weapon" being third, this movie delivers comedy and hard hitting action.

The film has so many damned memorable one-liners that it's impossible not to forget them, a must see.

Not a bad psychological horror thriller that cashes in on the success of "Saw". Elisha Cuthbert is a hottie in this movie, the movie isn't really brutal at all but more about psychological and mental torture rather then cutting things open.

Enjoyable but it's no "Silence of the Lambs" or "Saw".

Dick Tracy
Dick Tracy(1990)

A winner in my books!

One of the funniest movies i've ever seen! I've adored it since i was 5 and is an all time favorite of mine.

Great jokes and humor abound thanks to the genius of Mel Brooks, you gotta see this movie.

Not bad but nothing great! Although i gotta give points for Ridley Scott for trying to do a fantasy adventure after his fantastic "Blade Runner" but not as good as some of the other fantasy flicks of it's time.

The Director's Cut of this movie does improve on the lousy U.S. cut version and has a more rich music score by Jerry Goldsmith and Tim Curry steals the show as Darkness.
