Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Leave it to Tim Burton to direct a completely dark and twisted musical. While I enjoyed the movie, I couldn't stomach some of the issues presented by the movie itself. I really felt the need to watch a Disney movie afterward.

There Will Be Blood

Daniel Day-Lewis is an amazing actor. Which is about the only positive thing I can really say about this movie. Maybe it was the theme this year for Academy Award/Oscar winning films, which apparently is showing that humanity is dominated by greed, vengeance, and murder. (For more examples see Sweeney Todd and No Country for Old Men.) But like the rest, this movie left me feeling less than chipper.

Dragon Wars
Dragon Wars(2007)

Possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

Knocked Up
Knocked Up(2007)

Not quite as good as I had expected. Maybe I was distracted by the name Ben Stone, couldn't stop thinking of Doc Hollywood.

3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma(2007)

I've never seen the original, so I won't measure against the first movie, but for the most part I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the acting and action was wonderful. I will have to say that Ben Foster was amazingly entertaining, considering his fellow cast, I think he stole the show. Unfortunately my final impression was eh due to the lame ending. Yes, I said lame.

I really enjoyed this movie. It felt both infuriating and touching at the same time. The cast was impressive and the stories were intertwined beautifully. I did feel that some of the plot points weren't resolved at the end. Not to ruin any plotlines, but I found the ammunition point witty.

Wild Hogs
Wild Hogs(2007)

Some funny parts, but mostly cheesey.

The movie was okay. Bonus points for making me feel a bit of nostalgia, not to mention Patrick Stewart is cool. Rock on Captain Picard....rock on.

Scott Baio is 45 and still my hero.

Three O'Clock High

Great movie. Classis 80s.

It's Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. man! That in itself warrants 3 stars.

Teen Wolf Too

Why Jason Bateman? Why?

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor(2001)

Did anyone else notice there were no Hawaiins in the movie? Hmmm....

The Legend of 1900 (La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano)

Very interesting movie. I always enjoy watching Tim Roth, he usually has unique characters. This one was no exception. Gotta love the piano showdown scene.

I'm not usually a fan of horror thrillers, but I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the mix of religious belief and murderous intentions was fitting. Just kidding. Still a great movie.

The Last King of Scotland

Who knew someone would actually regret not going to Canada?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Thought it was great. Blah, blah. blah about all the people who will use the book as a measuring stick, books are a medium which allow more use of the imagination and are not restricted by time or the attention span of an audience. Overall, visually appealing and well done.

Marie Antoinette

How do you put together a great cast, add in a talented director and an interesting topic, and come out with crap? The movie felt disjointed and seemed to lack any focus. And I'm still confused why there were a pair of Chuck Taylor's Converse All Stars in the scene with the shoes. And again, as much as I loved many of these actors, I hate the invalidity of it. RIp Torn as the King of France?? All I could do was chuckle and shed a little tear. How sad... Two stars for practically showing Kirsten Dunst nude several times.

Wow! This movie was well worth it. Nonstop action, amazing special effects, great cast, and a wonderful sense of humor. For all you geeks out there, this movie lives up to the hype, and for all you closet geeks, you're gonna love it!

Little Miss Sunshine

This movie felt like a mix between National Lampoon's Vacation and the Royal Tenembaums.

Bridge to Terabithia

It had more depth to it than I expected.

Epic Movie
Epic Movie(2007)

I haven't watched many of these spoof movies, but every once in a while, I feel like watching a movie that doesn't require any thought. Wasn't great, but it had some pretty funny parts, and I loved Crispin Glover playing Willy Wonka.

Blood and Chocolate

Eh, it wasn't awful.

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

The action was nonstop. The villians were wonderful. Some of the plot lines seemed underdeveloped, but only because there was so many plot lines combined. It could have been worse.

The Chronicles of Riddick

The director's cut is much better than the theatrical version.

Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider(2007)

This movie had a great cast. I mean how can you go wrong with Sam Elliott, right? Not to mention, the Ghost Rider is a kick ass character, and with the graphics technology available for CGI nowadays, this had all the makings of a great movie. Too bad the writing sucked. The lines were awful and the acting seemed forced because of it. Can you say zero character development? How disappointing. I'll give this movie 3 stars for Sam Elliott alone though.

The Matrix
The Matrix(1999)

In the words of the brilliant leading actor, "Whoa."

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

So I think this one was actually better than the other two. The first one was great but the second left me incredibly disappointed. I disagree with most of the reviews that this movie had confusing plot lines. I felt it all tied together well. The cameo of Keith Richards was entertaining. Don't forget to stay after the credits for the bonus scene. Overall I really enjoyed this movie, and I didn't even notice how long it ran. Usually a good sign that I was entertained.

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

I actually liked this one much more than the first one. Possums and mini sloths are funny little animals. Who knew?

Blood Diamond

Definitely more graphic than I had anticipated.

WaSanGo (Volcano High)

Although I found the MTV version amusing, I prefer the original Korean version. It's like an asian Matrix. How can you not like that?

Pan's Labyrinth

Not what I expected. And definitely not a family film. A little too graphic at times, but overall interesting and visually impressive.

The Fountain
The Fountain(2006)

Bizarre. The visual aspects and segments were amazing. The timelines seemed too disconnected. I always have a difficult time accepting actors chosen for characters outside of the character's ethniciity. The queen of Spain should be hispanic. Is that too much to ask? Would you make a movie about George Washington using an asian actor? Anyway, overall I was confused and not really inspired or impressed.

Fight Club
Fight Club(1999)

I would give this movie a review, but the first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club....

The Specials
The Specials(2000)

This movie succeeded where Mystery Men failed.

The Good Shepherd

First movie I've seen in a long time that I will actually have to watch twice. Not because it was that good, but because the storyline jumps frequently and because of the subject matter, the characters often speak in code throughout the movie. I think this would have been a great movie had it been trimmed down a bit. The characters and cast were great, but character development seemed choppy due to the time line jumps. Still, I couldn't help being impressed by this movie.

The Holiday
The Holiday(2006)

Overall a decent happy-ending chick flick.

Rocky Balboa
Rocky Balboa(2006)

It could have been worse.

The Departed
The Departed(2006)

I really don't know what to say about this movie. Hmmm.

Stranger Than Fiction

This movie made me feel warm and fuzzy. Yeah, I said it.

This movie was incredible! The story never slowed, the dialogue was great, and the cinematography was excellent.

Almost Famous

This was such a great movie. The story, the cast, and the music were fantastic.

Lake Placid
Lake Placid(1999)

Betty White is my hero.

The Hudsucker Proxy

If you like Tim Robbins, you really should see this movie.

Four Rooms
Four Rooms(1996)

I was crying from laughing so hard after the last room. It was genius.

Bubble Boy
Bubble Boy(2001)

I felt guilty for enjoying this movie. It's so wrong in so many ways. But damn, it was funny.

Ready to Rumble

This movie was surprisingly funny. I couldn't help but laugh.

AVP - Alien Vs. Predator

This movie actually surpassed my expectations.

Hmmm, vampires, werewolves, and Kate Beckinsale in leather....does it get any better?

50 First Dates

Sandler and Barrymore are awesome together again. Plus the soundtrack is awesome.

Grizzly Man
Grizzly Man(2005)

This movie was a documentary about a very tragic story of the life and death of Timothy Treadwell. The movie itself was an even greater tragedy. The narration was terrible, the interviews were ridiculous, and the monologues were awful. The point of this story is "Stupid kills."

Deep Blue Sea

The scene with Samuel L. Jackson giving his inspirational speech kinda reminded me of the first scene with Brad Pitt in Meet Joe Black.

The Rules of Attraction

I thought this movie was very provocative. I also enjoyed the various uses of cinematic techniques. Great cast and controversial issues in the search for love.

Kindergarten Cop

This movie was a tumor.

Starship Troopers

Cheesy sci-fi B-movie. But a great cast.

Undercover Brother

Neil Patrick Harris is hilarious in this movie.

Under Siege
Under Siege(1992)

Best part of this movie was Erika Eleniak's cake scene.

Point Break
Point Break(1991)

Surfing bank robbers. Genius.

Team America: World Police

Just didn't do anything for me.

You've Got Mail

Yeah, well, I really liked this movie.

It was a good idea.... no it wasn't.

That leg's gonna have to come off Steve.

Don't read the book first, it just ruins the movie.

Dark City
Dark City(1998)

I really liked this movie.

Alien Resurrection

Better than I thought it would be.

The Illusionist

Not as good as I was expecting.

Ghostbusters 2

Why are some sequels made?

I liked it, shut up.

Maybe not all comic books should be movies.

Weird, but good.

This was a great movie when it came out. I'm gonna leave it that way by not watching it again.

Men in Black II

Not as good as the first.

Pete's Dragon

Great classic kids movie!

Osmosis Jones

Even Bill Murray couldn't save this one.

Couldn't finish it.

The penguins were the only thing good about this movie.

There's Something About Mary

Man, everyone seems to like this movie. I don't get it. Ben Stiller is pretty boring, Matt Dillon is annoying, and I can't stand Chris Elliott. Sucked.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Best one of the orginal Star Trek movies.

Cool Hand Luke

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

The Hustler
The Hustler(1961)

Moves a little slow at points, but hey, it's about pool.

The Color of Money

Fortunately the pool shots make up for Tom Cruise's hair.

Poolhall Junkies

If it's a pool movie, how can it be bad??

The Quick and the Dead

Great cast, mediocre movie. Sad.
