A Man Called Ove (En man som heter Ove)

This well-acted and lovingly-produced Swedish film had a little bit of everything: humor, pathos, drama and joy. The redemption that came eventually to Ove after his long journey through depression following the accidental death of his pregnant wife, was touching and beautiful. His narrative was spiced with hysterically funny interludes done tastefully in flashback. I loved this film and thought it was the best foreign film of 2016. It really is a "story for all ages".

Riveting, emotional, well acted and entertaining. Hanks is his usual stellar self and the supporting cast is great. I don't know what the problem was with some of the critics out there. This film had me on the edge of my seat!

American Honey

A quite good flick reflective of the necessary path taken by a swath of teen-twenty somethings - moving at times, boring and needing of editing at others, if you want to be depressed about the underclass - don't miss this - and don't vote for the Trumpster!! He will make it worse.

If you enjoy gratuitous violence (or have a "thing" for Ben Affleck), you'll probably like this movie. I thought it was average at best.
