Movie Ratings and Reviews

Spider-Man
Spider-Man(2002)

I saw this with my best friend in Japan, and it was pretty cool.

Death in Venice
½

Brilliant film, but even Dirk Bogarde and this film couldn't be better than the novel.

Green Street Hooligans

This was an interesting footie film, mainly because here in Japan, we really haven't got much of a football hooliganism problem, so it was a unique thing to see.
I love this film! (Don't get me wrong; I love football, but I do condemn hooliganism in real life.)

Wait Until Dark

This was a wonderful film!

Vertigo
Vertigo(1958)

Masterpiece from Alfred Hitchcock....The cinematography is stunning, and both actors play convincing roles in the story.

Divorce American Style

Dick van Dyke is so hilarious and wonderful in this film. Probably one of the best films from the 1960s, in my opinion.

Trainspotting

Brilliant film! I read the book by Irvine Welsh, and it was quite good, too.
The soundtrack has some smashing songs from the film.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Although I prefer the book to the film, still, this was a brilliant film adaptation.

The Celluloid Closet

Interesting and worthwhile documentary about GLBT issues in film.

Some Like It Hot

This film is such a great film.
I really do love men dressed up as women.

The Great Gatsby

I still think the film doesn't do F. Scott Fitzgerald justice, but it was a relatively decent film.

Beyond the Sea

I'm a hugh Bobby Darin fan, so I loved this one!
Kevin Spacey was absolutely smashing as Darin, and he even has a good voice too.

Capote
Capote(2005)

Philip Seymour Hoffman is brilliant as Truman Capote!

Road to Morocco

Bob Hope is so hilarious in this film.

Lolita
Lolita(1962)

I especially loved Peter Sellers as Clare Quilty in this one!

Back to the Future

I love this film so much!

Ocean's Eleven

George Clooney is fabulous. I still want to see the original version from the 60s with Sinatra in it though.

The Ring
The Ring(2002)

I liked the original Japanese version a bit more, but I still liked this one.
