2 1/2 stars for visual effects. I was very disappointed in this after all the hype. Although Portman's acting was amazing, the movie was tedious and almost like a stylized, dance version of Psycho. I found myself wanting to get up and go get popcorn. Maybe I am jaded, but if this is what is being called "amazing, thrilling, outstanding" then I am going to quit going to movies altogether. I wanted to like this much more than I did.
A haunting, confusing-in-a-good-way film with a surprise twist ending that will sadden you. I so love a movie that I can't see the ending coming from 3 feet away. :) A rarity these days. Good performances by all.
I watched this because it was filmed in South Carolina where I grew up. (The same reason I watched Paradise w/ on Johnson). Some of the acting was unprofessional but otherwise a great family movie to watch with your kids.
Nazis=terror whether dead or alive or in another time warp. I was sufficeintly scared until half-way through when things got cheesy and the finale let me down. However, it is worth watching for the suspense.
This movie made me so angry I just had to keep watching. First of all I wanted to smack Terrence Howard's character upside his head. Serious anger management issues and possessiveness going on here. Why was Nicole Parker even with him? None of it made sense and the actions of the characters were ridiculous. Not recommended!
Non-stop action and fx. A CG Arnold was kind of disappointing. I would have loved to see him acting in this one. I am not a Christian Bale fan but he played his part. The little girl was a doll! I jumped and covered my eyes and was amazed...isn't that what all of the Terminator's are supposed to do? I loved the "I;ll Be Back" line. I went with my son and we both loved it.
Even if you do not like the characters, this is a REAL movie with REAL people and it is an Oscar worthy film. I submitted this one to Flixster after watching late one night. I was amazed at the marvelous acting. You must see this one!
