Piper Perabo looks too old to be in high school but she does a good job playing a lying, cheating, stealing b*tch. There were a few scenes that I thought were funny but it was just a typical teen flick.
Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman won't disappoint but I'm not so sure if I was totally into this movie. The last part made me wonder a bit. - was Eli blind? Or did I just spoil to those who haven't seen it yet?
I was surprised that this movie turned out better than I expected. The Orphan was a lot scarier but this movie had some scenes that made me lose my breath. However, I felt Renee Zellweger was trying to look younger than she is which was a bit annoying.
I have seen a lot of war movies but this one is different in such a way
that there were not that many people running around shooting at each
other or planes and tanks, and yet the sense of danger is very much
present. I never thought that the anticipation of having to witness
someone get blown up... to pieces while disarming a bomb was a lot more
uncomfortable than actually seeing someone get shot at point blank. This
movie was very suspenseful in that manner. If this movie does not make
you stop and have you appreciate how grave
the sacrifices soldiers make when they are deployed in war, I just don't
know what else would.
