JC's Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1
Sure, it does have a sense of "that's it?" to it, but it's still a pleasantly darker film than its predecessors. Granted, there are some inexcusible 'Lord of the Rings' rip-offs in the film, but that just goes to show that Rowling's got nothing on Tolkein. Still, it's a fairly entertaining film, and the cast does well. There are a couple anti-climatic scenes, but this was probably necessary to trim the already long running time down. It will be interesting to see the culmination of this megafranchise come July.
