Sean's Review of Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring
"This is as close to a Zen experience as the movies offer" (Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel). I had to borrow this quote, because I thought the exact same thing while I was watching it. I can't even begin to act like I understood all of it (I was Wikipedia'ing Buddhism and related aspects as fast as I could while watching it) but, as I learned while living there for the better part of 13 months, Korea is truly a beautiful country with an eye in its cinema that knows how to perfectly capture its majesty. "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...Spring" is a timeless film that will leave you with much to contemplate, even when it occasionally missteps or is cryptic to Western audiences.
