Great movie, just hilarious. I was a bit disappointed with the first one, and although I still liked it, I think this one was the movie that one should have been, although it still might have been a little disappointing, but I was probably just asking for too much. There's some hilarious scenes and all the characters are up to their usual shenanigans with characters like Tyrone and Randy getting more character development than they did in the show, which was cool. The ending was a bit disappointing though and I think they could have ended the franchise better, but who knows, maybe they'll do something else Trailer Park Boys related someday, I hope so, at least.
This movie is entertaining
This is basically just a one man show with Colin Firth, although I do enjoy Julianne Moore and her British accent, lol, she's not really pivotal to the movie, it's all Colin Firth and he's brilliant. I haven't seen Crazy Heart, still on my to-do list, but Jeff Bridges would have had to have been damn good in order to deserve the Oscar over Firth. The plot is simple, it follows the day of a man whose significant other has died and his planned suicide. It's both sad and touching as it simply goes through his day, his LAST day in 1960. Speaking of 1960, the setting is just brilliant and, while I don't have much experience during that time, it looks right out of 1960 and looks great. Tragic and brilliant this movie is, it might be too slow for some, but I think most will be able to enjoy it for what it is.
Sort of like Saw meets The Usual Suspects meets Memento meets Reservoir Dogs, well... you get my point, lots of different aspects to this film. It builds up some decent suspense, but everything really hits you at the end and that's what makes this movie. As everything is found out, that is where the "Memento" part comes in and blindsides you, some great twists. There are some better movies of the type, Memento again coming to miind, but this is worth a watch, just don't give up on it through some of the less interesting parts, 'cause it's worth it at the end.
Brilliant film. Very powerful and intense movie led by one of the many awesome performances of Ed Norton's career, shame he didn't get an Oscar for this one. Great supporting cast too, Ed Furlong's best performances for sure, Fairuza Balk is great as the blind follower and girlfriend then ex-girlfriend of Ed Norton's character, and Stacy Keach is great as the evil Neo-Nazi leader and there's so many other great supporting characters that add to the story. It deals with major problems, of course Nazism, race as well as family dysfunction and whatnot and the plot developed and the characters developed in such a great way up to the very end, which is both depressing and fitting. A must see movie and a true modern classic.
