I interpreted the ending a little differently from some of the reviewers who felt that Maya's face in the closing shot was one of relief. I think Bigelow's intention was more along the lines of the Hurt Locker's ending. "Where do you want to go now" the pilot asks her. She doesn't know. She doesn't have anywhere TO go. Therein lies the true question posed by this story: "What now?"
Cements Ang's legacy as one of the most versatile directors we've ever had. The best use of 3D I've ever seen, one of my most cherished theater-going experiences.
Disappointingly juvenile at every level, with the lone saving grace being Ellen's consistently great presence.
