This movie is truly something. The first five minutes are especially intense and set the tone for the rest of the film. The cast was remarkable too. They were able to draw you in to the story moreso then expected. I thought it was also remarkable how no direct blame is given to any character in the film. The arguments of all sides are made rather well. In the end, I thought this was a spectacular film.

This movie has an all-star cast (Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Bill Murray..). The movie is quite funny, but there are a number of stretches in which the movie moves incredibly slowly. That aside, the story is told very well and comes full circle by the end.

The Girl Who Played with Fire (Flickan som lekte med elden)

The follow up to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was good. I was a little disappointed as I loved the mystery of the first film, and this one doesn't have as much of that. This movie focuses more on the overall development and awareness of the character Lisbeth Salander. The outcome of the 'mystery' was shocking and disturbing. I liked the way the movie ended though. The film was well made overall. I was happy to see the returning cast members. An intense movie that will keep your attention.

This was good. The plot, as it was playing out, originally seemed rather predictable to me. The ending was really spectacular, though. I didn't see the twist coming at all. It runs a bit long. A good watch. Quite thrilling.

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter

In terms of production, this movie does have a few issues (voice over was used for some reason; fight scenes are simplistic, special effects are low tech), but I found it all to be forgivable. The cast is clearly Canadian-accents-but they are endearing. The creativity of the film's makers is something to be admired. I never thought I would see punk priests, Jesus Christ, vampires, music numbers, & romance all the same movie. Surprisingly, all of the elements I listed work. The movie is great in it's outrageous plot, 90s wardrobe, lower production, and inherent professionalism. I loved it.
