Starts out quite good, then slows down, then Lee Daniels compensates the dragging plot half way through with brutally violent and sexual scenes where Nicole Kidman and Jon Cusack bring their best, but it's still not enough - the movie fails to deliver and the ending leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth and lots of questions.
The oh-so-wonderful Meryl Streep brings an excellent performace in an oh-so-weak movie. Extremely boring and dragging. What a shame.
Better than the ones with a similar subject, still, very slow. Though it embraces family responsibility and the problems around it well. No popcorn movie. Not sure why the Globe went to Clooney. He is just OK.
I knew nothing about baseball, but now I know it's all in the numbers - everything-wise: money, score, hits, home-runs. Go figure! Very nicely built up film, good performance by Brad Pitt.
Thank you Guillermo Arriaga for reminding us that a good movie is not about the visuals, effects, rice and sauce and blah: it's about a simple story with depth on a flat screen executed excellently.
Wow. Colin Firth is the best, not to mention Guy Pearce who keeps surprising me every time. Hooper manages to cut the edges, collect the pieces and warp them up into a truly amazing story.
Cutting up the time-periods is probably the best device that Cianfrance could do to make this one even watchable. Simple, yet interesting story with quite an annoying female character, which, by the way is played fantastically by M. Williams.
Blah. Ok cast with average performances, really dragging story and flat characters.
Great job by Boyle of turning a simple story to an entertaining motion picture (flashbacks, visions...etc) You gotta be in a mood to watch this tough, not a popcorn movie. Aron Ralston, you got my admiration, and J. Franco - if I was wearing a hat now I'd take it off.
The most likable character is Eduardo; Zuckerberg is depicted as a real nerd in flip-flops regardless the weather, but apparently the factual accuracy doesn't go beyond 40%, so say some sources. Yet, entertaining enough and very well made - good job by D. Fincher.
A lousy action-thriller with a heavy fancy layer: too much make-up, visuals, fancy costumes, scenery where some details become disturbing because they are not paid attention to. Two hot actors, average performances. I prefer the French version.
Fairy tale? Yes. But I loooove it, Christina you got the moves and voice, girl!
I couldn't stop watching it, fantastic direction by Aronofsky and N. Portman is truly amazing; she gives her best performance so far and peaks in her career with this role.
I was surprised by this, it´s actually good. The two, Hathaway and Gillenhaal - make a nice couple, they have the chemistry and also deliver some great performance. Good.
Great stuff. While Adams, Wahlberg and Melissa Leo do extremely well, Christian Bale absolutely steals this movie with his performace and outdoes everyone - he is amazing. Well deserved Golden Globe, hope he gets the Oscar too.
I have never seen Julia Roberts sucking at a role so much as she sucks in this one. Plain terrible. And J. Bardem is just way too hot and good an actor to play such a pathetic lover role as he is given here. The scenery is awesome, but the plot is loose.
With some gaps in the plot, it´s a fairly well made movie, running on three lines, eventually all folding into one. Unfortunately extremely predictable.
