This movie has excellent performances by the main cast, Jackman, Dano, Leo, Bello, and Gyllenhaal. The story is intense and the tension is palpable throughout. I definitely recommend it!

The Act Of Killing

Probably the best and most powerful documentary I've ever seen. There isn't another one like it.

Definitely a high-budget and captivating documentary, but it becomes a bit heavy-handed in the second half. Still, it was a welcomed addition to 2013.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

I still want to see it in 3D, but I did enjoy this film. It was slow and dragged at some points, but I found it far more enjoyable than the first film. I think I want to revisit my review for the first film once I see this again in the high frame rate. During Hobbit 2, I actually found myself wishing that it was in a higher frame rate. In any event, this film could have developed its own conflict and resolution more than it did with regard to the prophesy and the connection to the Arkenstone. Similarly, Bilbo's character could have presented more development (since this is his story, after all). Overall, though, I thought this film was enjoyable and recommended!

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, despite the shallow performance from Bruce Willis. A sound concept and a thoughtful execution. I would have liked to see a deeper development of the alternate timelines, but overall I was still very taken with the movie and recommend it for an evening's easy entertainment.
