The best silent comedy, nervewrecking scenes almost stopping your heart.
A mans struggle to raise improper food to the world. Done in a totally biograpyically way, making in incredible predicable and hollow. At least it gives you the fast-food-way of fast-food.
A powerful story about getting to the very roots of your identity. Yet, the movie lacks something to reach out further than it does. Overall good, but nothing deep and special.
Maybe the first horror movie ever created? A master in building emotions in the set with incredible backgrounds, as well as the great characterisation of both Dr. Caligari and Cesare, which rays of power and torment. The mysterious Dr. Caligari has its similarities with the to be born Dr. Mabuse. Impeccable Weimar silent, powerful as the sun.
Id say its a classic 90s movie, with great line up. A revenge movie, in some rather untraditional way. Thus the movie really dont manages to get out of the box, therefore it never really makes a deep impression either.
A story that could be true back in 45, but now totally unrealistic in the term of the feminist rights and due to totally self-idolising, self-absurdium generation now-a-days. A alcoholic living in the fucking drapes of goodwill, dries out the roots of life into adictiveness.
Warm and touching musical, really takes a big bite of the feelgood cheesecake. The right actors, the right time, the right music and so on.
Full throttle vampyric action, building up very nicely with a wounded father-daughter relationship, binding them together in a fight-for-survival power house. Korean in its finest, up-2-date, and clean-cutting like only they can.
If watching painting dry, would be an genre, this would be its reference feature. Endlessly long, Ive used a month going through it. Yes, there is a story in here, a dark one, about a ruined shitty godforsaken village with out-of-work people embracing thievery and cheap spirits. While the rain never ends, and their lives more forward in snail-speed, you get to see this in slow-fucking-motion.
Supposedly a documented gather of a meeting, ending with "the final solution". Realistic? I don't know, Interesting? Yes, it somehow captures the feeling and atmosphere from the 40's executive league.
Expendable high end action, done proper and well. Mission Impossible series are comparable to James Bond, just minus the "stylism". In terms of budget and production costs, it really pays off in gripping action stunts.
Brutal muscles and brutal lack of brains. Fight for justice, injustice, for whatever, its an entourage of mercenaries, displaying body physique and endless slaugther.
Very stylish and visual. The plot tickens, but youre not put through the vulcanic action, you predict will happen.
Too slowdriven, too hollow, too weak.
Great piece of artistic vampyristic love. Dreamy and gloomy.
Jarmushian flick, in the true sense of his style. Gentle, poetic, subtle and warm. Like a warm spring breeze, with some irregularities penetrating the soft touch of Paterson. Its about hope, dreams, broken dreams, twins and poetic world views.
On the point important on the back-from-war issue, building up in a great classic way with real depth and strength around the story. As mentioned the movies takes a bite of a important question, not just for the time around WW2, but still significant for today.
Oh my god.. what a horrible meaningless propaganda movie. "Based" on a true story, turned into the most unrealistic war movie ever. Its like believing Ghostbusters is a true story. I like Ben Foster, but what on earth is he doing in a movie like this. And that being said, Mark Wahlberg on the cast list is a no-go.
A sarcastic and simple plot, turning it into pure genious, dressed up as a real gentleman. Petter Sellers delivering a solid piece of pure autism, a totally natural and straight autism. That being said the rest of the characters really builds up and around the movies credibillity, in which reaches high.
