I was disappointed in this movie. I'm not a huge fan of post-apocalyptic movies but this has been done before and done better. The movie dragged on and there were plot holes all over the place. Obviously I won't give away the ending but the big plot twist at the end was ridiculous.
After watching the piece of crap that was the 2001 Tim Burton Planet of the Apes this was a delightful surprise. Script was A+ and James Franco can do no wrong. The addition of John Lithgow as Franco's father was a nice touch and a nice way to show why the doctor was determined to take risks in developing the virus. The CGI is simply magnificent. The ending was a nice touch and no doubt the film is primed for a sequel.
Ran across this movie one Saturday morning when not feeling well and forgot how much I loved it. This movie was the precursor to all that is Glee. Daniel Letterle is great in the lead role. In many ways the movie is kind of "campy" but it's why I liked it. Why wasn't high school band camp like this?
Great sci-fi flick with a touch of romance thrown in for good measure. Matt Damon continues to show that he has some of the best acting chops in the business. He was perfect for this role. Overall a very enjoyable movie - I would have preferred a little more "meat' to the ending; that said the ending was still satisfactory. I now want to read the short story that the film was based on.
This movie was such a pleasant surprise. I liked it so much more than I expected. It was so nice seeing something unexpected from a director and writer. Clooney, Farmiga and especially Anna Kendrick were outstanding. Who knew that Kendrick (a bit part in all the Twilight movies) had such great acting chops?
